A method for hydraulically boosting a vehicle electric parking brake having a hydraulic service brake and an electric parking brake. Application forces electically generated by the parking brake function is superimposed on the boosting brake force generated by a hydraulic boosting brake pressure provided by the service brake to the brake actuator. A multi-circuit electrohydraulic motor vehicle brake system includes a plurality of calipers having hydraulically actuated actuators which are hydraulically connected to an electronically controlled unit. The unit includes an electronic unit ECU and a hydraulic unit HCU. At least some of the calipers, additionally or separately include electromechanical actuators for actuating or releasing a parking brake effect. In order to cut down on electrical interfaces and electronic units in a motor vehicle, the electronic unit is connected to the electromechanical actuators via respective two separate electrical supply lines, and the electronic unit has at least one electrical switch for supplying the electromechanically actuated actuators with power.

Multi-circuit electrohydraulic motor vehicle brake system and method for operating the same

The invention relates to a motor vehicle brake system having a hydraulically actuatable service brake system and an electromechanically actuatable brake system, including an operating element HMI, in particular for activating a parking brake function, an electronic control device (EPB-ECU) for activating an electromechanical actuator of the electromechanically actuatable brake system, and an electrohydraulic control unit (HECU) associated with a service brake and serving to control or regulate hydraulically implemented service brake functions, driving stability functions and/or braking assistance functions. Motor vehicle braking system having a hydraulically actuated service braking system and an electromechanically actuated braking system

A parking brake having an actuator, wherein the actuator is driven by a direct current motor which can be operated in two directions. The actuator moves, via a self-locking gear mechanism of the actuator, at least one brake shoe for applying or releasing the parking brake in the direction of a rotary element or away therefrom. A control unit for performing open-loop or closed-loop control of the movement of the direct current motor is also provided. The parking brake is designed such that, when the parking brake is applied or released, an application point of the brake shoes against the rotary element is generally overshot. In order to increase the accuracy and reliability of the setting of the brake-application force when the parking brake is applied or of the brake-application clearance when the parking brake is released, the control unit determines the application point by forming the first derivative over time of the electric current taken up by the direct current motor during the application of the brake. A corresponding method for operating such a parking brake is also described.

A parking brake having an actuator, wherein the actuator is driven with a direct current motor which can be operated in two directions and which moves a piston of the actuator and, via a self-locking gear mechanism of the actuator, at least one brake shoe for applying or releasing the parking brake. A control unit for performing open-loop or closed-loop control of the movement of the direct current motor is also provided. During open-loop or closed-loop control of the movement of the direct current motor for applying and/or releasing the parking brake, the control unit takes into account a hydraulic admission pressure which is currently present at the piston if the brake is applied or was present at the piston if the brake has been released when it had previously been applied. A corresponding method for operating such a parking brake is also disclosed.
