An apparatus for winding up a metal strip into a coil. A frame in which a second counter-bending roller is mounted in a rotatable manner. The frame is movable with the aid of a second setting device between a coiler shaft position and a roller bed position. In the roller bed position, the second counter-bending roller alongside a first counter-bending roller acts as the roller bed roller of a roller bed which is arranged above the coiling device.

Disclosed is a support roll for a rolling mill, such as a plate rolling mill, flat rolling mill, or similar, comprising a jacket and a roll shaft which is embodied in several parts. The invention also relates to a method for producing a support roll.

Method for producing a support roll for a rolling mill

When rolling hot-rolled strips, different draughts per pass might occur during the rolling operation over the length of the roll gap, due to changes in the hardness of the rolling stock, to the roll gap itself or to the geometry of the incoming rolling stock. These different draughts per pass lead to lateral deviations and shifts of the rolling stock in the roll stand and to a lateral bending of the outgoing hot-rolled strip. In order to avoid these defects by intentionally influencing the geometry of the rough-rolled strip, it is proposed to interconnect in at least one roughing-down stand a dynamic positioning in the roughing-down stock () with fast and powerful lateral guides () arranged before and after the roughing-down stand (), by corresponding regulation operations, in such a way that a grainy or tapering bloom () is shaped into a straight and taper-free roughed-down strip () in one or more passes, in continuous or reciprocating operation.

A hot-rolling stand including blocks arranged in the stand windows and having hydraulic piston cylinder units provided as bending devices which are able to transfer bending forces via guide elements onto the chocks of the working rolls. For each block a double-acting hydraulic piston cylinder unit is provided whose two ends are connected with the guide elements. The guide elements have guide that engage both sides of the free ends of noses of the working roll chocks so as to permit axial movement of the working rolls.
