A device and method for regulating the pressure between a floor cleaning implement () and a floor, wherein the floor cleaning implement () is coupled to a floor cleaning machine (). The device of one embodiment comprises a cantilevered arm () coupled to the floor cleaning machine () and a sensor () coupled to the cantilevered arm () and positioned to sense deflection or other deformation of the cantilevered arm (). An actuator () is coupled between the cantilevered arm () and cleaning implements (). The actuator () is also coupled to the sensor () and adapted to receive signals from the sensor () to cause actuation of the actuator (). When pressure other than a predetermined amount causes the cantilevered arm () to deform, the sensor () senses this deformation and cause the actuator () to actuate in a direction that allows the cantilevered arm () to return to a position in which the pressure is within the predetermined amount.

Device and method for adjusting the pressure between a floor cleaning implement and a floor

A squeegee assembly for removing liquids from a floor. The squeegee assembly includes a frame that is movable in a direction of travel and that includes a base and opposed walls defining a channel extending along the width of the frame, and a squeegee blade partially disposed in the frame within the channel adjacent one of the walls. The squeegee blade has a first longitudinal edge positioned adjacent the base of the channel and a second longitudinal edge extending outward from the channel. The squeegee assembly also includes a jam member that is engageable with the frame within the channel so that the squeegee blade is positioned between the frame and the jam member to couple the squeegee blade to the frame.

Squeegee assembly for a floor cleaning machine

The present invention relates to an improved squeegee assembly. Some embodiments of the present invention are directed to a uniquely shaped squeegee configuration that has been found to remove liquids from a floor in an efficient manner. One particular embodiment utilizes a W-shaped squeegee. Other embodiments are directed to a squeegee fixation device. Yet other embodiments are directed toward a squeegee orientation device. Some embodiments are also directed toward a lifting mechanism and the connection between the squeegee assembly and the lifting mechanism.

A floor cleaning machine includes a cleaning system, a drive mechanism, and at least one steerable front wheel driven by the drive mechanism. The floor cleaning machine also includes two independently suspended rear wheels. A platform is located along a geometrical center axis between the two rear wheels. The platform is configured to support an operator of the floor cleaning machine in a standing position. A maximum vertical distance between the platform and the floor is 200 millimeters.

Floor cleaning machine

A floor cleaning machine includes a cleaning system, a front wheel, two rear wheels, and a drive mechanism. Each of the two rear wheels is independently driven by the drive mechanism. The operator is placed on the machine such that the operator is standing on a platform located along and above the geometrical center axis between the two rear wheels. The maximum vertical distance between the platform and the floor is 200 mm.

A device for trimming at least one side edge of a bound printed product including a trimming table to receive the printed product and a press die arranged to press the printed product against the trimming table. The press die is operative to rise and fall with respect to the trimming table and the press die includes an elastic surface in a region approximately near the side edge of the print product. The elastic surface is operable to expand in a direction approximately transverse to the pressing direction. The device also includes a trimming knife positioned to trim the side edge. The trimming knife is operable to move between a starting position away from the trimming table and an ending position at the trimming table. The device also includes counter blade or a cutting bar mounted to limit a cutting stroke of the trimming knife.

Method and device for trimming at least one side edge of a bound printed product

A device and method for coupling a cleaning implement to a floor cleaning machine. The device includes a plate that has a first edge, a second edge, and a main body portion extending between the first edge and the second edge. The device also includes projections and recesses positioned to releasably engage with each other to releasably couple the plate with the cleaning implement, and a channel that is coupled to one of the first edge and the second edge of the plate to receive an edge of the cleaning implement. The channel has a first end for initially receiving the edge of the cleaning implement during insertion, and a second end positioned opposite the first end. A retainer is in communication with the channel to selectively prevent the cleaning implement from disengaging relative to the coupling device.

Device and method for coupling a cleaning implement to a floor cleaning machine

A squeegee assembly for removing liquids from a floor. The squeegee assembly includes a frame that has a first and second suction ports separated from each other in a lateral direction, and a squeegee blade coupled to the frame and positioned adjacent the suction ports. The squeegee blade has a first portion adjacent the first suction port, and a second portion adjacent the second suction port. The first portion extends in lateral directions away from the first suction port at an angle to channel fluid encountered by the first portion toward the first suction port. The second portion extends in lateral directions away from the second suction port at an angle to channel fluid encountered by the second portion toward the second suction port such that the squeegee blade acts as a separate funnel for each of the first suction port and the second suction port.

Floor cleaning machine, comprising a cleaning system, at least one front wheelas well as two rear wheels' and a drive mechanism, wherein the drive mechanism is an electric mono wheel drive and wherein the operatoris placed on the machine, characterized in that the operator is standing on a platformwhich is located above the geometrical axis Z between the two rear wheels, wherein the maximum vertical distance between the platform and the floor is 200 mm. The front wheel can be a castor wheeland the rear wheelscan be independently driven by drive motors&#x2014;instead of one castor wheel, two independent castor wheelscan be provided. The front wheel can also be a steered wheel&#x2032; which is powered by a driveand the rear wheels&#x2032; can be independently suspended and not driven.

Floor treatment cleaning system () for a floor cleaning machine (). The floor treatment cleaning system includes at least two treatment elements () wherein each treatment element is equipped with cleaning means () and is eccentrically driven by driving means (A) via at least two synchronized eccentric pivots (), characterized in that the respective pivots revolve around their main rotation axes () in such a way that the at least two treatment elements perform opposite movements thereby transporting residues on the floor in a desired direction and balancing engine masses and friction. The treatment elements () can be positioned in different ways: transversely relative to the moving direction of the machine () and parallel behind each other, transversely relative to the moving direction of the machine () and next to each other and in a V-shape or arcuate with the opening in the moving direction of the machine.

Floor treatment cleaning systems

Non-slipping wheel () comprising an elastomer layer () which covers at least the radially outer part of the wheel, characterized in that the elastomer layer has been provided with bubbles which are continuously torn open during use of the wheel thereby generating a suction effect. The bubbles can be provided by foaming the elastomer. The elastomer can be polyurethane, and the wheel can further comprise an inner core layer () of a different material which is elastic, e.g., rubber. The wheel is particularly useful for floor cleaning machines: due to their use on ground which is covered by a cleaning solution, the wheels face traction problems&#x2014;on the other hand, the wheels should not leave additional residues or markings on the floor.

Non-slipping wheel

A device and method for coupling a floor cleaning implement to a floor cleaning machine. The device and method selectively couple a floor cleaning implement, such as a pad or brush, in manner that can be easily released and connected. In one embodiment the coupling device comprises a plate having a first and second channel coupled to opposite edges of the plate. The channels are dimensioned and configured to receive edges of the cleaning implement. At least one channel has projecting members that selectively prevent the cleaning implement from leaving the channel. In some embodiments, the plate has a plurality of recesses dimensioned and configured to selectively receive projections extending from the cleaning implement. The projections of the cleaning implement only fully engage the recesses of the coupling device when an actuator presses the cleaning implement against a floor.

A floor cleaning machine having a speed control and steering member which operates under operator-applied deformation thereof. The invention provides improved consumer convenience at steering and/or speed control.
