A large square baler for performing a baling operation to form square bales includes a pickup unit for picking up crop lying on the ground, a cutter unit for cutting picked up crop into at least one predetermined cut length, a pre-compression chamber, a stuffer device, a bale chamber for forming a square bale from flakes of crop pre-compressed in the pre-compression chamber, and a tying system for binding the square bale. The stuffer device is configured to pre-compress the crop into the flakes in the pre-compression chamber and transport the flakes into the bale chamber. The cutter unit is controlled in dependence on a tying operation conducted by the tying system and on at least one parameter representing the square bale size.

In order to facilitate maintenance work when replacing the bearing pin, the invention proposes to provide a mounting hole in or on the mower disk, into which mounting hole the bearing pin can be screwed from a side of the mower disk facing away from the spring plate, wherein a threaded region and a retaining region are formed on the bearing pin, and the retaining region can be introduced through the mounting hole and brought into engagement with the spring plate when the bearing pin is screwed in.

A mower-conditioner is provided having guide elements that protrude into the crop material flow. The guide elements make it possible to influence the direction of the trajectory of the cut crop material. Each guide element can be mounted on at least one component of the mower-conditioner by way of the least one holder. At least one component contains openings, through which at least one holder can be inserted into and/or fitted in the component.

A material-guiding device in a mower-conditioner surrounds an upper front region of a crop processing rotor and is composed of an upstream-situated portion and a downstream-situated portion. The downstream-situated portion is adjustable relative to the upstream situated portion and is connected thereto such that the adjustment of the upstream-situated portion simultaneously leads to an adjustment of the downstream-situated portion, such that an adjustable angle &#x3b1; present between the two portions is maintained and thus a uniform material flow is enabled.

Material-guiding device

A towed farm implement includes a set of auxiliary wheels mounted for elevating the implement to a height which permits the implement to be pulled over and lowered onto a transport trailer or which permits the trailer to be otherwise maneuvered to a loading position beneath the implement. Once the implement is loaded, a pivoted tongue of the implement is positioned so as to be used for the endwise transport of loaded implement. In one embodiment, the auxiliary wheels are mounted on their own lift arms for being swung vertically by an adjusting mechanism that is independent of that use to effect vertical adjustment of the ground wheels. In another embodiment, the wheel support arms of the ground wheels and the lift arms to which the auxiliary wheels are mounted are secured together for being swung by the same adjusting mechanism.
