The invention relates to a compression apparatus (10) comprising a turbocompressor (1) with a plurality of compression stages (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d) as well as infeed flows (5b, 5c, 5d), where the compression apparatus (10) serves for operating a refrigerant circuit, especially with a hydrocarbon gas such as propane, ethylene, methane, or a mixture thereof, wherein a mixer device (8a, 8b, 8c) is arranged outside the turbocompressor (1) and wherein a preceding and a succeeding compression stage (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d) are connected to one another via the mixer device (8a, 8b, 8c) in such a manner that the infeed flow (5b, 5c, 5d) provided for the succeeding compression stage (1b, 1c, 1d) opens into the mixer device (8a, 8b, 8c) in order to mix the infeed flow (5b, 5c, 5d) with a main flow (6a, 6b, 6c) of the preceding compression stage (1a, 1b, 1c).

Compression apparatus

An arrangement for a dry-gas sliding ring seal in a turbomachine which establishes ambient conditions in the region of the dry-gas sliding ring seals under which no fluid precipitates regardless of whether the machine is operating or not. By supplying heat to the leakage flow during standstill of the turbomachine in a manner similar to that during its operation, an undercooling in the region of the dry-gas sliding ring seal with all its negative effects can be suppressed; and the start-up of the turbomachine takes place starting from a substantially safer operating state.

Turbocompressor for non-ideal process gases

In a turbo machine, for example, a turbo compressor, the rotor shaft extends through and is sealed relative a housing via dry gas seals in which a seal clearance is achieved between a rotating, sealing body and a non-rotating sliding body in which the inner side of the dry gas seal is charged with a barrier gas, with the leakage of the dry gas seal being dammed via a back-up plate and the dynamic pressure is monitored via a pressure inspection device, wherein due to increasing dynamic pressure an alarm is given off or the turbo machine is automatically shutdown without delay so that the exit of gas, particularly of toxic or explosive gas from the inner area of the housing of the turbo machine is avoided, wherein, via the use of multiple seals the leakage pressure of one of the inner dry gas seals can initiate a warning or alarm signal and via the leakage pressure of the outer dry gas seal, the turbo machine can be shut down.

Turbo machine with an axial dry gas seal

In a turbo machine with magnetic bearings on both sides and dry gas seals for the rotor, the axial thrust acting upon the rotor and generated by the pressure difference between the pressure side and the suction side is compensated for in that a dry gas seal provided on the suction side and the end of the shaft are acted upon by a certain pressure, which generates a compensating axial thrust, so that the resultant axial thrust becomes as slight as possible. Advantageously, this pressure is regulated via the bearing gap of an axial magnetic bearing of the rotor such that the bearing gas assumes a predetermined value.
