An apparatus for conveying paints is connectible via a supply passage to a reservoir and is connectible via a feed passage to an application device. The apparatus includes a diaphragm pump mounted in a closed housing and provided with an admission valve and a discharge valve. The diaphragm pump is driveable with an electric motor that can be switched by a manometric switch dependent on conveying pressure. The admission valve and the discharge valve are commonly arranged in a pump head and are held by a supporting element that is detachably connected to the pump head. Further, the discharge valve is located upsteam of a pressurized chamber that is connected to the feed passage and is also located in the pump head. Variations in feed passage pressure cause variations in the volume of the pressurized chamber by flexing a control diaphragm. The control diaphragm acts on an adjustment element to actuate a control switch. The invention provides an apparatus that is compact, reliable, and easy to manufacture. The apparatus operates at low feed pressures and noise levels. Further, the torque of the drive motor, preferably a split-pole motor, can be easily varied to suit the required conveying power of the diaphragm pump. The invention further permits reproducible adjustment of the manometric switch, and allows quick and easy cleaning of the admission and discharge valves without the need for special tools or disassembly of the housing.

Apparatus for conveying paints

A device for controlling the quantity of a medium, such as paint, lacquer or adhesive emerging from a discharge nozzle of an equipment, such as a spray gun, which device includes a delivery chamber extending between the discharge nozzle and a pump housing which has a pump chamber connected at one end by an outlet valve to the delivery chamber and receives a reciprocating pump piston, with the delivery chamber including a control arrangement that will adjust the quantity of the medium flowing through the discharge nozzle and also prevent a dribble from the end of the nozzle during a return stroke of the pump piston. The control arrangement includes a control sleeve which telescopically receives the control piston that moves with the valve member of the outlet valve relative to the sleeve and the sleeve and control piston have a flow restricting arrangement, such as formed by a groove having a different cross sectional size in the axial direction so that the size of the opening will change as the control piston moves relative to the control sleeve.

Device for regulating discharge volumes of a nozzle

This invention relates to an apparatus for quantitatively definite delivery of a liquid or thick, pressurized medium such as paint, varnish, glue or the like wherein the medium is placed under pressure by a conveying pump comprising a pump discharge valve and whereby a second valve is provided at or close to the delivery nozzle, this second valve being actuatable by the pressure of the medium to be delivered and having an opening pressure which is greater than that of the pump discharge valve.

Apparatus for delivering a liquid or thick medium

A reciprocating armature motor for electrically driving equipment such as a piston pump for a paint spray gun or a diaphragm compressor characterized by a stator having a solenoid, an armature pivotally mounted at one end to the stator and having a second end acting upon a member of the equipment to be actuated to move the member back and forth along a path when the armature moves relative to the stator with a reciprocating motion and an arrangement for controlling the reciprocating motor of the armature including a coupling link forming a positive link between the armature and a stationary element which coupling link moves depending on the reciprocating motion of the armature. In one embodiment, the coupling link is composed of a pair of pivotally connected arms forming an articulated link which interconnect the armature to the stationary element and coact with a stop to limit the movement of the armature toward the stator. In another embodiment, the coupling link is formed by a cam disk mounted for rotation on the stator and a torsion spring having one end connected to the armature and the other end connected to the link to hold the armature in contact with the cam disk.

Reciprocating armature motor for driving electrical equipment

An electrically-operated manual device, such as a nail driver, has an electric motor for actuating an axially-movable impact body. The motor is a vibrating armature AC motor having a single-sided movably arranged vibrating armature which, in dependence of the power supply frequency, acts with a high impact frequency on a low-mass impact body. The impact body is located in a stationary cylinder connected to a housing of the device and has a detachable adapter sleeve which receives a plunger activated via the impact body on a part to be driven. The configuration of the device makes it possible to construct a nail driver or the like with an extremely compact structure since the cylinder equipped with the impact body can be arranged immediately adjacent the vibrating armature AC motor. The power losses are negligible because the vibrating armature, swinging about an axis, acts directly on the low-mass impact body. In addition, it is possible to construct adapter sleeves for connection to the cylinder for different driving applications.
