An optical deflection unit for targeted radiation, e.g., produced by laser or superluminescent diodes, in scanning, ophthalmological measuring and therapy systems, comprises a deflection mirror, a position sensor and a control unit, which form a control circuit for minimizing the deviation of the actual positions, detected by the position sensor, from the desired positions of the deflection mirror, whereby the optical deflection unit comprises a deflection mirror, oscillatingly movable by means of non-contacting electromagnetic drives around at least one rotation axis, and which is positioned in the direction of the, at least, one rotation axis between at least two bearings. The optical deflection unit is designed may also be used for beam guidance in high and ultrahigh vacuum installations, such as UV and EUV exposure installations for semiconductor lithography.

Optical deflection device for scanning, ophthalmologic measurement and therapy system

The invention is directed to a medical device comprised of at least one device part that is electrically operated and can be switched between an idle state and an operating state and a method of controlling such device. A control unit is provided which switches an electrically operated device part from the operating state to the idle state. Alternatively or in addition, a person detector and a control unit are provided, wherein a control unit switches the device part to the operating state in case the person detector detects the presence of a person at a distance from the device. Alternatively or in addition, an operating control is provided for manually switching the device from the operating state to the idle state.

The present invention is directed to a fixation mark which is to be displayed to the patient in order to prevent unwanted eye movements during the treatment of an eye without taxing the patient's ability to concentrate. In the method according to the invention, the fixation mark which is to be displayed and on which the patient must orient the eye to be treated by foveal focusing is projected in the field of vision of the eye to be treated. To prevent unwanted eye movements, the fixation mark is moved in the field of vision of the patient. The movement is carried out in such a way that the patient can easily follow the fixation mark. The proposed technical solution relates to a fixation object which can be used in ophthalmologic examination devices as well as in ophthalmologic treatment devices. Since the patient is occupied in following the fixation object with his/her eyes, the risk of glancing away is substantially reduced. In this way, unwanted and uncontrolled movements of the eye being treated can be minimized.

Method for reproducing a fixation mark for ophthalmological therapeutic equipment

An arrangement for measuring the power or energy of optical radiation of radiation sources, especially laser radiation is disclosed. It comprises a module defining an open or at least partially closed hollow space, wherein the inner walls or outer walls of the module are entirely or partially occupied by detectors for generating measurement signals which are proportional to the measured parameters of the radiation sources. The detectors are connected together in such a way that their generated measurement signals are further processed to form at least one resultant sum signal or the detectors are connected to a downstream processing device to form at least one resultant sum signal. This at least one resultant sum signal is relatively independent from the position, arrangement and radiating characteristic of the examined radiation source in the module. At least one opening or guide-through is provided in the module for inserting the radiation source to be examined.
