The invention relates to a hybrid cord for use as a reinforcement in a belt bandage of a pneumatic vehicle tire, consisting of at least two threads with ends which are twisted together. At least one first thread is a high-modulus thread with a specified thread fineness, and another thread is a low-modulus thread, said other low-modulus thread having a lower thread fineness than the first thread. The invention is characterized in that the proportion of the high-modulus thread in the hybrid cord is 80-95 wt. %; the difference between the thread fineness of the high-modulus thread and the thread fineness of the other low-modulus thread is &#x3e;800 dtex; and the elongation at break of the high-modulus thread ranges from 1%-8%, and the elongation at break of the low-modulus thread ranges from 9%-30%.

A method is for determining a profile depth of a tire profile. The method includes at least the following steps: a) detecting an acceleration of a measurement point on a tire inner side of a vehicle tire, wherein a deviation, caused by contact of the vehicle tire with a roadway, of the acceleration of the measurement point within an observation window is detected, b) deriving at least one analytical characteristic variable which is characteristic of the profile of the detected acceleration, wherein the at least one analytical characteristic variable characterizes the non-periodic profile of the detected acceleration within one tire rotation, c) determining the profile depth in a manner dependent on the at least one analytical characteristic variable, wherein a calibration curve yields the dependency between the analytical characteristic variable and the profile depth, and the calibration curve assigns a profile depth to the derived analytical characteristic variable.

Method for determining a tread depth of a tire profile and control device therefor

A pneumatic vehicle tire for passenger cars, vans or the like has a radial carcass, a multi-ply belt, and a profiled tread that, as viewed in the axial direction, has a central portion and two shoulder portions. The shoulder portions include a rubber mixture that has a lower dynamic modulus of elasticity E' (at 55&#xb0; C. and 8% elongation according to DIN 53513) than the central portion. The central portion has extensions at the base thereof, running laterally substantially parallel to the tread substructure and radially inside and across the width of the shoulder portions.

Pneumatic vehicle tire

A pneumatic vehicle tire having a radial carcass, an at least single-layer belt and a tread that is composed of two layers, a tread cap and a tread base, which are made from different rubber mixtures, in a radial direction, the tread base having a central portion and two lateral portions that extend at least in a radially outward direction from an axial perspective. The two lateral portions are made from a rubber mixture that has a lower dynamic modulus of elasticity E' at 55&#xb0; C. in accordance with DIN 53513 (measured at an extension of 8%) and a lower hysteresis than the central portion of the tread base for a lower rolling resistance without worsening the handling behavior of the vehicle tire.
