An angular ball bearing for a turbocharger, including an outer ring and a cage, along the circumference of which rolling element pockets are arranged and at the end face of which a cage guide surface runs, the cage guide surface together with a surface on the inner circumference of the outer ring forming a sliding surface pair. The sliding surface pair forms a transition region at the sliding surface pair end facing the rolling element pockets such that&#x2014;when the cage and the outer ring are positioned in an axially parallel manner, the spacing between the surfaces which form the sliding surface pair increases in a monotonous manner, said increase growing continuously. The progression of the spacing achieves a reduction of the wear susceptibility.

Ball bearing for a turbocharger

A bearing assembly is disclosed for an exhaust gas turbocharger for rotatably supporting a rotor shaft on a bearing housing, having at least one bearing outer ring of a radial bearing, which at least one bearing outer ring is placed in a bearing bore of the bearing housing and consists of at least one part, and at least one securing element, which consists of at least one part and by which the bearing outer ring is axially fastened in relation to the bearing housing. In order to simplify the assembly of a corresponding bearing assembly and to reduce the production costs thereof, at least one circumferential groove, according to the invention, is arranged on an outer lateral surface of a compressor-side end section of the bearing outer ring, in which at least one groove the securing element engages, and the securing element is arranged outside of the bearing bore on the compressor side and is supported at least indirectly on a compressor-side end of the bearing housing.

Bearing assembly and exhaust gas turbocharger

A rolling bearing () for an exhaust gas turbocharger, including an outer race () and an inner race (), between which there roll rolling bodies () guided by a cage (). The cage () is then guided with a cage guiding surface () on a raceway () of the outer race () and is equipped with openings () which connect the cage guiding surface () with that side of the cage () oriented toward the inner race (), in order to guide lubricant thrown off through the inner race () between the cage guiding surface () and the raceway (). In order to now improve a lubricant supply to the cage guide, the cage () is provided, on the side oriented toward the inner race (), with at least one groove () into which each of the openings () opens.

Rolling bearing for an exhaust gas turbocharger, and cage for a rolling bearing

A rolling bearing (), in particular for a turbocharger, having an outer ring (), an inner ring () which is rotatable relative to the outer ring () about an axis of rotation (), and having a number of rolling bodies () which are guided in a cage () between the outer ring () and the inner ring (). Here, the cage () has, on its inner circumference, a guide surface () which is guided on a guide track () on the outer circumference of the inner ring (). A groove () with a free region () extends on the outer circumference of the inner ring (). The groove () includes a groove base () which rises in a radial direction toward the guide surface (). Oil is applied to the free region () of the groove () via a spray oil hole () in the outer ring ().

Rolling bearing for a turbocharger

A bearing unit for a turbocharger, including a bearing housing which extends in an axial direction, a bearing cartridge, situated within the bearing housing, having an outer bearing ring, and a securing element, situated on the bearing housing, for the twist-free positioning of the outer bearing ring within the bearing housing. The sum of the forces acting on the outer bearing ring is essentially zero. A bearing unit of this type prevents twisting of the outer bearing ring without reducing the vibration-damping effect of the quenching oil film.

Bearing unit for a turbocharger

A rolling bearing (), in particular for the mounting of the shaft of a turbocharger, which rolling bearing includes a bearing ring () and a number of rolling bodies (). The bearing ring () is formed from a steel which comprises, as alloy constituents, 0.05 to 0.65 wt % carbon, 0.5 to 5.0 wt % chromium, up to 1.0 wt % molybdenum, up to 1.0 wt % vanadium, and up to 1.0 wt % aluminum. The surface of the bearing ring () has a hardened surface layer () which comprises nitrites and which comprises a diffusion layer () and a connecting layer () situated above said diffusion layer. The surface layer () has a thickness of up to 1 mm. The invention also relates to a method for producing a corresponding bearing ring ().

Rolling bearing having a bearing ring with a hardened surface zone

A bearing unit () for a turbocharger is provided having a bearing housing () extending in an axial direction and having a through-hole, and a rolling-contact bearing () arranged coaxially within the through-hole and having a bearing inner ring (), a bearing outer ring () divided axially into first and second part rings (), and a number of rolling-contact elements (). The bearing outer ring () is mounted in a vibration-damping oil film (), and the two part rings () are spaced axially apart from each other by a pretensioning spring (). The first part ring () has a first groove () with a first securing ring () arranged therein, and the first securing ring () is supported axially from the outside against the bearing housing ().

A bearing unit for a turbocharger, including a bearing housing extending in an axial direction and also including a bearing cartridge arranged within the bearing housing, wherein between the outer circumference of the bearing cartridge and the bearing housing there is formed an intermediate space with an oil film, and wherein the bearing housing has a supply bore formed for the supply of oil to the oil film. The bearing cartridge includes a rolling bearing, the outer cartridge ring of which is mounted in a freely rotatable manner in the oil film. A bearing unit for a turbocharger, the bearing cartridge of which includes a rolling bearing, the bearing outer ring of which is mounted in a freely rotatable manner in the oil film. By means of bearing units of such design, it is possible to ensure the secure mounting of a shaft even without a separate twist prevention device.

A rolling contact bearing includes a shaft having a first radial elevation and a second radial elevation. A first inner ring has a first raceway for the rolling bodies to roll on, a first radial narrowing and a second radial narrowing, the first radial elevation and the first radial narrowing forming a first press fit, and, respectively, the second radial elevation and the second radial narrowing forming a second press fit. The shaft has a third radial elevation and a fourth radial elevation. A second inner ring has a second, radially outer rolling body raceway for rolling bodies to roll on, a third radial narrowing and a fourth radial narrowing, wherein the third radial elevation and the third radial narrowing forming a third press fit and, respectively, the fourth radial elevation and the fourth radial narrowing forming a fourth press fit.

Rolling bearing with optimized press-in force

A squeeze film damper is provided, which includes a bearing cartridge (), a housing (), in which the bearing cartridge () is accommodated, and a squeeze film in a gap () between the housing () and the bearing cartridge () for producing a damping force directed opposite a circulating radial exciter force, which is generated by an imbalance retained in the bearing cartridge (). In the squeeze film damper, an arrangement () for attenuating the damping force according to the circumferential position are provided around the bearing cartridge ().

A rolling bearing for a turbocharger, which has an outer ring with a first rolling element raceway, an inner ring with a second rolling element raceway, and several rolling elements accommodated in rolling element pockets of a rolling element cage. The rolling element cage has a guide surface, which is guided on an inner surface of the outer ring and arranged on a smaller radius than the radius of the first rolling element raceway. The rolling element cage has an extension, which is arranged over the circumference of the rolling element cage and extended annularly in the radial direction, on the side opposite the guide surface.

Rolling bearing having a cage to prevent flooding with lubricant

An antifriction bearing for a turbocharger, which has an outer ring with an annular inner face and an inner ring with an outer face which is parallel to the inner face, and a rolling body cage with a single annular part arranged radially between the outer and inner ring with one cage guiding face which is parallel to the inner face of the outer ring and an inner surface which is parallel to the outer face of the inner ring, and with closed rolling body pockets which are distributed over the circumference and rolling bodies received in the pockets. To provide hydraulic damping and reduced friction, the annular part is provided in the region of the cage guiding face with at least one radial recess outside the rolling body pockets, which can be formed by apertures, cutouts or grooves in the cage guiding face.

A valve drive of an internal combustion engine is provided, having a camshaft () which includes a carrier shaft () and a cam part (), which is arranged thereon in a rotationally fixed manner and displaceable between two axial positions and which has at least one cam group of directly adjoining cams () having different cam elevations and an axial gate () having two cam tracks () that extend axially along the circumference in opposing directions, and further having an actuating element () that can be coupled to the axial gate for displacing the cam part in the direction of both cam tracks. The cam tracks are arranged one behind the other in the circumferential direction of the axial gate ().
