Methods, apparatus and computing devices are described herein for activatable lighting devices. In various embodiments, a composition of a lighting system may be ascertained based at least in part on a database () of one or more lighting device records associated with one or more lighting devices () of the lighting system. In various embodiments, it may be determined, based on the ascertained composition, that a predetermined criterion is satisfied. In various embodiments, a communication may be issued in response to the determination. The communication may be configured to facilitate activation of a deactivated lighting device function of a lighting device associated with the lighting system.

Apparatus and methods for activatable lighting devices

A method of and a device for characterizing a light source and a method of selecting a replacement light source are provided. The method obtains () a first image of a light source in operation, obtains () a second image of the illuminated environment, and obtains () first camera settings and second camera settings of the optical system and image processing system of the respective first and second camera at the respective moments in time that the first image and the second image was obtained. The first image, the second image, and the first and second camera settings are analyzed () to estimate characteristics of the light source. The characteristics of the light source may be used to propose a replacement light source and characteristics of the proposed replacement light source may be used to simulate the effect of the replacement light source on the illuminated environment.

Method of characterizing a light source and a mobile device

The invention relates to a method and a system for radio identification with an additional close-range check, which prevent misuse of a radio identification system and increase the security of radio identification. In particular, so-called relay attacks are to be largely prevented in passive entry systems. The method according to the invention firstly provides for activation of a transponder (S) for reading of its data. After this step, an additional close-range status signal is provided (S) which indicates the close range of a reader. Once the close-range status signal has been detected by a transponder (S), data transmission for reading of the data stored in the transponder by the reader is possibly enabled in reaction to the detection of the close-range status signal (S) and the data can be read by the reader for identification of the transponder (S). The system according to the invention for radio identification with an additional close-range check consists of a reader for reading the data stored in a transponder and of an evaluation unit which is connected to the reader for identifying the transponder on the basis of the read data.

A device and method for delivering a fluid in the form of a high-speed micro-jet includes a container for accommodating a fluid which is to be delivered through an orifice of the container, and an actuator cooperating with the container. The actuator includes a thin-film transducer membrane, where the transducer membrane is divided into at least two transducer elements. An MR apparatus has a resonant circuit, which is formed by an MR receiving coil (L) and a capacitor (C), and has an electronic control circuit (S) for switching the resonant circuit between two or more operating modes.
