There are provided herein cosmetic and sanitary products comprising physiologic cooling compounds, selected 1,2-alkanediols, and tensides and/or UV filters.

Cooling product

A liquid dispensing apparatus, may include a first container configured to hold a first liquid. The first container can have an opening in an end of the first container. The liquid dispensing apparatus may further comprise a frustoconical-shaped container inside and attached to the first container. The frustoconical-shaped container is configured to hold a second liquid. A frustum of the frustoconical-shaped container has an opening. The frustum of the frustoconical-shaped container is proximate to the end of the first container and the opening in the frustoconical-shaped container may have a smaller cross-sectional area than the opening in the first container. The frustoconical-shaped container separates the first liquid from the second liquid. When the first and the second liquids are poured from the apparatus, the first liquid flows through the opening in the first container, the second liquid flows through the opening in the frustoconical-shaped container and the opening in the first container, such that the first liquid begins to exit the opening in the first container before the second liquid begins to exit the opening in the first container.

The present invention provides a method for producing caffeine, wherein the method comprises: (a) combining a coffee extract comprising caffeine with an aqueous organic acid; (b) crystallizing the coffee extract and the aqueous organic acid so as to form caffeine-organic acid co-crystals in an aqueous phase; (c) separating the caffeine-organic acid co-crystals from the aqueous phase; and (d) extracting caffeine from the co-crystals obtained in step (c), wherein step (d) comprises placing the co-crystals in an aqueous solution so as to form a caffeine precipitate and a solution comprising the organic acid. Also provided is a method for producing a decaffeinated coffee extract comprising chlorogenic acids.

The present invention relates to flavor generation. In particular the invention relates to a process for the preparation of a flavor composition. The process comprises forming a deep eutectic solvent, preparing a reaction mixture comprising the deep eutectic solvent and flavor precursors, and heating the reaction mixture to form aroma compounds. The deep eutectic solvent is a liquid based on a combination of at least two compounds solid at 25&#xb0; C. and comprises water and/or glycerol in an amount insufficient to dissolve all the compounds solid at 25&#xb0; C. individually, or in an amount such that all the compounds solid at 25&#xb0; C. are simultaneously saturated at 25&#xb0; C. The flavor precursors may comprise the compounds solid at 25&#xb0; C. on which the deep eutectic solvent is based. A further aspect of the invention is a food product comprising the flavor composition obtainable by the process of the invention.

Deep eutectic solvents and flavour generation

The present invention relates to flavor generation. In particular the invention relates to a process for the preparation of a flavor composition. The process comprises combining glycerol with a quaternary ammonium compound, adding at least one flavor precursor to form a reaction mixture and heating the reaction mixture to form aroma compounds, wherein the glycerol is combined with a quaternary ammonium compound at a molar ratio ranging between 5:1 and 0.8:1. The flavor precursor comprises preferably an amino compound such as an amino acid. A further aspect of the invention is a food product comprising the flavor composition obtainable by the process of the invention.

The present invention primarily concerns teeth cleaning compounds containing menthol for use with a toothbrush, preferably tooth pastes, tooth cr&#xe8;mes, tooth cleaning gels or tooth powders. Such a tooth cleaning compound according to the invention contains menthol and a quantity, for masking the bitterness of the menthol, of menthane carboxylic acid-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)-amide (WS-12) of the following formula (Ia), in particular of the following formula (Ib), i.e. L-menthane carboxylic acid-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)-amide.  The present invention also concerns the use of menthane carboxylic acid-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)-amide (WS-12) of the formulas (Ia) or (preferably) (Ib) to mask the bitter taste of menthol in a teeth cleaning compound.
