A containerized clustered computing system may be used to provide a platform as a service (PaaS) environment. The clustered system may be configured by initiating a bootstrap node including a first cluster infrastructure orchestrator and first container orchestrator and migrating cluster metadata to a key value store of the first container orchestrator. A second node in the cluster may be initiated by configuring a second cluster infrastructure orchestrator of the second node with a dependency on the first container orchestrator of the bootstrap node.

Key value store in a clustered containerized system

A centralized Internet of Things (IoT) manager of an IoT system is configured generate and deploy a data pipeline application to an edge system. The centralized IoT manager is configured to receive a request for a data category and identification of a data transformation function, identify a data source of the IoT system belonging to the data category, and identify an edge system of the IoT system associated with the data source. The centralized IoT manager is further configured to generate a containerized data pipeline application based on a configuration of the edge system that is configured apply the data transformation function to input data to provide transformed data, and provide the containerized data pipeline application to the edge system.

As migration proceeds, the migration task attributes in the data structure are updated to reflect ongoing migration task scheduling adjustments and ongoing migration task resource allotments. A user interface or other process indicates a request to prioritize migration of a particular one of the to-be-migrated virtual machines. Based on the request, at least some of the virtual machine migration task attributes are modified to indicate a reduced scheduling priority of some of the to-be-migrated virtual machine migration tasks so as to preferentially deliver computing resources to the prioritized virtual machine migration tasks.

Systems and methods for workload migration control. Migration control operations commence upon identifying a workload comprising two or more virtual machines to be migrated from a source computing environment to a target computing environment. A migration process initiates migration of the two or more virtual machines to the target computing environment. After the migration process has begun, a user identifies a prioritized virtual machine from among the two or more virtual machines that are in the process of being migrated. In response to receiving the user input, a migration manager suspends progression of selected virtual machines while accelerating progression of the migration of the prioritized virtual machine that is not suspended. The migration of the re-prioritized virtual machine preferentially receives computing resources. After migration of the re-prioritized virtual machine that is not suspended has completed, then the migration manager releases the suspension of the suspended virtual machines to continue migration.

Apparatuses and methods for edge computing application deployment in an IoT system

An illustrative embodiment disclosed herein is a method, by a migration virtual machine, including determining whether a first target network interface card is configured by dynamic host configuration protocol and sending a first address resolution protocol request for a first source Internet Protocol gateway to the first target network interface card. Sending the first address resolution protocol request is based on determining that the first target network interface card is not configured by dynamic host configuration protocol. The method further includes determining whether the first target network interface card responds to the first address resolution protocol request of the migration virtual machine and applying an Internet Protocol configuration of a first source network interface card to the first target network interface card. Applying the Internet Protocol configuration is based on receiving a response from the first target network interface card to the first address resolution protocol request of the migration virtual machine.
