The invention relates to a milling pick, in particular a round pick having a pick head and a pick tip, consisting of a hard material, wherein the pick tip has an attachment area, which is used to connect it to the pick head, wherein the pick tip has a concave area, which extends in the direction of the central longitudinal axis of the pick tip, and wherein the concave area has an elliptical contour. To achieve an improved resilience for such a milling pick, provision in made in accordance with the invention that the ellipse generating the elliptical contour is arranged in such a way that the semimajor of the ellipse and the central longitudinal axis of the pick tip form an acute angle.

A round-shank pick having a pick head and a pick shank that includes a supporting element pierced along its longitudinal center axis by a mounting hole with an inside diameter for receiving the pick shank. A collar height, measured in the direction of the longitudinal center axis between an end, facing away from the seat surface, of the centering extension and the seat surface or between the end of the centering extension and an inner termination of a recess that is integrally formed in the supporting element in an indented manner with respect to the seat surface, is configured such that the ratio between the inside diameter of the mounting hole in the supporting element and the collar height is less than 8, and/or that the collar height is greater than an axial clearance of the pick mounted in a pick holder.

The present invention relates to a pick, in particular, a round shaft pick, having a pick head and a pick shaft, having a support element which has a centering lug on the underside thereof, wherein the centering lug has a centering surface which extends inclined with respect to the central longitudinal axis of the pick and merges into a seat surface. To this end circumferential channel according to the present invention is disposed in the transition region from the centering surface to the seat surface and the depth of the channel relative to the seat surface is greater than or equal to 0.3 mm. The pick has an optimised rotatability and thus a low wear.

A round-shank pick, comprising a pick head and a pick shank, the pick head including a base part and a cutting element, which is connected to the base part and is composed of a hard material, in particular hard metal, wherein the base part has a wear-resistant layer on the outer surface thereof at the connection to the cutting element, which wear-resistant layer covers at least one segment of the outer surface of the base part facing the cutting element and wherein an end face of the wear-resistant layer facing the cutting element is covered by the cutting element.
