A protective device for a housing, such as a battery housing, is provided for discharging an overpressure from the interior of the housing. The protective device has a closure element for sealing an opening in the housing in a first operating state. The closure element is arranged to be movable relative to the housing and is configured to be moved into a second operating state in a non-destructive manner. A bearing element is provided for guiding the closure element. The closure element may have at least in some regions, a membrane having a predetermined permeability, and in the second operating state the closure element uncovers the opening in the housing.

Protective device for a housing

A valve housing () has first and third openings (), and first and second actuating elements () that are movable along a longitudinal axis of the housing (). A return element () is between the actuating elements (), and exerts a force to keep the actuating elements () in a rest position to close or open the first and third openings (). First and second wires () are formed from a shape memory alloy. The first wire () is on the first actuating element () and the second wire () is on the second actuating element (). An electric current to the first or second wire () contracts the respective wire () and moves the corresponding actuating element () into an activated position against the force exerted by the return element ().

Valve, valve stack, and component with valve and/or valve stack

Filter element () for filtering a substance, in particular a hydrocarbon, out of a fluid flow, in particular out of a fuel container, with a substrate material () on which a sorbing, in particular adsorbing, surface is formed on at least one side, at least in part, wherein the filter element () includes multiple mutually-opposite layers of the substrate material (), wherein the individual layers are arranged so as to be mutually spaced, and wherein the filter element () includes at least one spacer () that is provided between two layers in each case.

Fuel vapor buffering apparatus

The invention relates to a tank ventilation valve for a motor vehicle for selectively enabling or blocking a fluid flow, including a valve body () or tappet, which is linearly movable in one direction (R) and another direction (R) opposite to the one direction to selectively open or close a valve passage (D); at least one spring () for urging the valve body () in the one direction (R), an actuator for moving the valve body () in the other opposite direction (R) against the force applied by the spring (), and a blocking element () for blocking the valve body () such that a movement of the valve body () in the one direction (R) is blocked.

Tank ventilation valve, tank ventilation system and method for keeping open an electromagnetically activated valve

A heatable media line includes a connecting part, which establishes an electrical connection, and serves to introduce a heat conductor into a media line section. A connection of the heat conductor with contact-forming parts is set up in an end part, and the heat conductor is tightly accommodated in boreholes of a coupling part by means of two sealing bodies spaced apart from each other, as well as introduced into the media line section by way of a supporting body for purposes of heating a medium flowing in the latter. In order to produce a reliable seal intended to prevent the medium from penetrating into the end part, recesses in the walls of the coupling part and an interruption of a creepage distance are configured between the sealing bodies such that the heat conductor is directly in contact with the surrounding atmosphere.

Heatable media line

A push-in connector for releasably connecting the ends of two media lines consists of a push-in part () and a socket part () composed of a first socket section () and a second socket section (). In the installed condition, the push-in part () is axially latched in the second socket section () and accommodated in a manner that is rotatable about its axis, whereas the second socket section () can be accommodated in the first socket section () at different rotational angles about the common axis () in an axially latched manner. The second socket section () carries an actuation element () that is movable between a latched position shown by an axial pull-out safety device of the push-in part () and an unlatched position in which this pull-out safety device is lifted. This embodiment means that the rotational angular position of the second socket section () carrying the actuation element () with respect to the push-in part () as well as to the first socket section (), and thus the actuation position of the push-in connector, can be adapted to the respective installation conditions, such that unencumbered access to the actuation element () is obtained.

Push-in connector

A coupling device () for conduits conveying hydrocarbon liquids and hydrocarbon vapors, in particular for crankcase ventilation conduits, fuel conduits or tank ventilation conduits, includes a coupling body () with a connecting piece receiving section (); and a locking member () for locking into place a connecting piece () guided into the connecting piece receiving section (); wherein the connecting piece receiving section () has an installation recess () open radially toward the side, and wherein the locking member () can be guided into the connecting piece receiving section () laterally in radial direction (MR) by an installation recess ().

Coupling device

A crankcase ventilation for an internal combustion engine with a ventilation conduit which connects the crankcase of the internal combustion engine to an intake duct of the internal combustion engine, as well as a tank ventilation conduit and a connection system for a fluid conduit. The ventilation conduit comprises: a first pipe connector (), and a second pipe connector () with a receiving chamber () into which the first pipe connector () is insertable, wherein a second groove () is formed in the receiving chamber (), and the first pipe connector () has a first groove (), wherein a compressible retaining ring () is inserted into the first groove (), the compressible retaining ring being engageable with the second groove () when the first pipe connector () is inserted into the receiving chamber (), or an expandable retaining ring is inserted into the second groove (), the expandable retaining ring being engageable with the first groove () when the first pipe connector () is inserted into the receiving chamber ().

Crankcase ventilation for an internal combustion engine, tank ventilation conduit and connection system therefor

The invention relates to a method for testing the operation of an electric heating element which is used for heating activated carbon of an activated carbon filter and/or air which is guided through the activated carbon for the regeneration thereof. The heating element has a PTC-characteristic (positive temperature coefficient characteristic). The strength of a current flow through the heating element in a heating phase selected for the operational testing is measured at a point in time or over a time period and is used for the operational testing, in that at least one measured current flow value is compared with a corresponding current flow value to be anticipated during defect-free operation of the heating element, and the heating element is considered to be defective in the event of a deviation which exceeds a predetermined measurement.

Method for testing the operation of a heating element used for an activated carbon filter

An active carbon filter intended for the fuel supply system of the internal combustion engine of a vehicle consists of a housing (), inside of which flow paths for the different operating states of the filter are established between the ports () for connection with the top space of a tank, the ambient atmosphere and the intake manifold of the internal combustion engine. Proceeding from the port (), these flow paths are characterized by chambers situated one in back of the other for pre-warming the air, an adjacent chamber () equipped with a first heating unit, an adjacent chamber () that accommodates active carbon particles, and another, adjacent chamber () that accommodates active carbon particles, is equipped with a second heating unit (), and is provided with the ports (). This yields the establishment of optimal, in particular thermal conditions for the regeneration of the active carbon particles.

Active carbon filter for an internal combustion engine

An insertion coupling which can be used for example for a vacuum line consists of an insertion part and a sleeve part (), wherein a locking element (), which can be brought into engagement with a retaining rib of the insertion part, and an actuation element () are integrally formed on a housing tab () which extends in an arc-shaped manner around a longitudinal axis of the sleeve part () and can be elastically deflected radially. A movement of the locking element () in a radially outward direction and thus a release of the engaged state between the sleeve part () and the insertion part is possible by moving the actuation element () in an actuation direction (). A construction which is particularly simple in design is produced owing to the small number of parts. The sleeve part () is provided with a window, by means of which a correct engaged state of the locking element with the retaining rib can be visually checked.

Insertion coupling

An active carbon filter unit for a tank system consists of a housing () in which two chambers () are formed, carrying an active carbon filling, which form a section of a flow path which at its one end leads via a valve () and an air filter () into the ambient atmosphere and at its other end leads via a valve () and a non-return valve () to a connection for producing an underpressure or into the suction region of an internal combustion engine and via a connection () into the tank system. The valves (), the non-return valve () and a housing part () receiving the electrical connections thereof are part of a uniform control module (), which is exchangeably inserted into a recess () of the housing (). The control module () is equipped with almost all functional elements of a technical nature relating to measurement, control and energy supply which are necessary for an aeration and air removal operation, a flushing operation directed to a regeneration of the active carbon, and a tightness check of the tank system.

Activated carbon filter unit for a tank system

An insert coupling more preferably intended for use with fuel lines consists of a sleeve-like coupling body () and a tubular insert part () carrying a retaining rib () on the outside. Via a coupling element () axially fixed in the coupling body () on to which engagement hooks () are molded which are intended for engagement with the retaining rib (), a ring shoulder () is formed at the same time which together with a ring shoulder () of the housing () of the coupling body () axially spaced from said ring shoulder and the radially spaced cylindrical faces of the housing () facing each other and the insert part () define a ring space () in which a sealing arrangement consisting of two sealing rings () and a support ring () arranged in-between are accommodated. As a result of the unambiguous axial fixing of the sealing arrangement in the housing () the function of the sealing arrangement is not impaired through the removal of the insert part () from the coupling body () and through inserting said insert part in the coupling body (). A simple construction of the insert coupling is obtained in that said coupling factually consists only of three substantial components plus the sealing arrangement and can be employed with insert parts () which are smooth-walled except for a retaining rib ().
