A method and apparatus for cutting a paper or paperboard web particularly in a winder comprising at least one support roll (2) on which a roll (1) being wound is rotated. A curved, tensioned cutting blade (6) is rotated about the support roll (2) into the nip between the support roll (2) and the roll (1), whereby the sharpened and optionally toothed edge (9) of the blade cuts the web (4) being wound onto the roll (1) at a desired point.

Method and assembly for cutting a web

The invention relates to a web winding method and a winder for carrying out core replacement in a support drum winder. The core replacement is carried out with a sequence of measures, where the cutting of the web, removing of completed rolls (3) and placing of a new roll core between the support drums (1,2) is carried out by one single device comprising cutting, pushing and feeding means. The web (18) is held unmovably towards the trailing support drum (1) during the core replacement by means of a retainer device (16,17). For forwarding the removal of the rolls these are lifted by the same retainer device, if needed, to a height as required by the pusher device.

Web winding method and winder

Method and apparatus for fixing the end of a web on a core tube in a web reeling machine which includes a pair of spaced carrier rolls on which the core tube is supported. Adhesive agent is applied on the core tube, supported on the carrier rolls, from below and between the carrier rolls. The adhesive agent is conducted onto the core tube by moving an applicator device in the transverse cross-machine direction, beginning at the underside of the core tube at one transverse end of the reeling machine. The core tube may be urged against the carrier rolls by a depressor roll or the like during application of the adhesive agent on the core tube.

Method and apparatus for fixing an end of a web on a core tube in a web

An arrangement for winding a web, in particular a paper web, on a roll core or the like in a two-drum winder comprising two support drums and a rider roll surrounding the web core. The arrangement includes means for supplying, during the final stage of a roll winding process, a new roll core between the newly finished roll and the support drums. There are also a web cutter and means for the transfer of a finished roll away from the support drums. The front end of a transversely cut web is guided to form the beginning of a new roll around a new roll core by guiding means comprising a plurality of guiding units spaced-apart in the circumferential direction of the new roll core. These units include means for creating pneumatic jets urging the web tightly around the new core.
