A mixing arrangement for an exhaust-gas system of an internal combustion engine for mixing exhaust gas and reactant includes an exhaust-gas guiding component which delimits an exhaust-gas flow volume and which extends in the direction of a longitudinal axis, a reactant dispensing unit for dispensing reactant into the exhaust-gas flow volume, downstream of the reactant dispensing unit an exhaust-gas flow volume dividing arrangement, the exhaust-gas flow volume dividing arrangement dividing the exhaust-gas flow volume in a dividing length region into a plurality of partial exhaust-gas flow volumes, the plurality of partial exhaust-gas flow volumes including a central partial exhaust-gas flow volume and at least one partial exhaust-gas flow volume which surrounds the central partial exhaust-gas flow volume in a ring-like manner.

Mixing arrangement for an exhaust-gas system of an internal combustion engine

A mixer for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine for mixing exhaust gas and reactant includes a mixing chamber, a reactant dispensing arrangement for dispensing reactant into the mixing chamber axially between an upstream mixer wall and a downstream mixer wall, an inlet opening arrangement in the upstream mixer wall, an outlet opening arrangement in the downstream mixer wall, a flow guiding arrangement arranged between the upstream mixer wall and the downstream mixer wall, wherein the flow guiding arrangement provides a first flow path leading from the inlet opening arrangement to the outlet opening arrangement and a second flow path leading from the inlet opening arrangement to the outlet opening arrangement, wherein each flow path has at least two flow channels leading from the inlet opening arrangement to the outlet opening arrangement.

Mixer

An exhaust gas/reactant mixing arrangement for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine mixes exhaust gas and reactant. The mixing arrangement includes an exhaust gas guide housing defining a longitudinal axis and having a housing wall. An exhaust gas duct is surrounded by the housing wall and exhaust gas can flow therethrough. A mixing zone has a mixing chamber formed between an upstream end wall and a downstream end wall and a reactant dispensing arrangement is supported on the exhaust gas guide housing. The reactant dispensing arrangement dispenses reactant into the mixing chamber along a reactant dispensing line in a dispensing direction. A mixture flow path leads from an inflow opening to an outflow opening and is formed in the mixing chamber. The mixture flow path has two flow deflection regions, which follow one another in a mixture flow direction and have mutually opposite flow deflection directions.

Exhaust gas/reactant mixing device

A mixer assembly unit, for an exhaust system exhaust gas treatment unit of an internal combustion engine, mixes exhaust gas discharged by the internal combustion engine with reactant. A mixing section (), downstream in relation to a reactant release device (), mixes exhaust gas, flowing in an exhaust gas flow direction, with reactant. The mixing section includes a core flow duct (), extending in a direction of a mixing section longitudinal axis (L), through which a first exhaust gas partial stream (T) flows. A second exhaust gas partial stream (T) flows through a jacket flow duct () surrounding the core flow duct and separated from the core flow duct by an inner wall (). The reactant release device releases reactant into the core flow duct or/and into the first exhaust gas partial stream. A mixer () is provided at an upstream end area () of the mixing section.

Mixer assembly unit

An injection section () of an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine, with a channel () for guiding an exhaust gas flow (), with an injection port (), laterally on the channel to which a liquid or gas injector () can be connected, and with an injection chamber (), formed in the channel in the area of the injector port. The chamber is defined by a perforated, first flow through partition (), arranged in the channel upstream of the injector port relative to the exhaust gas flow and, and by a perforated, second flow through partition, arranged in the channel downstream of the injector port relative to the exhaust gas flow. Improved mixing and/or evaporation is achieved with the perforation portion of the first partition generating at least two partial exhaust gas flows (), which form two mutually opposite flow swirls ().

Catalytic converter device with injection section

A flexible line segment for the exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, with an annularly corrugated or helically corrugated metallic bellows, for exhaust gas flow therethrough, and a line segment arranged upstream in reference to the metallic bellows, with a precipitation device provided in the line section, arranged upstream in reference to the metallic bellows or mounted thereat. The precipitation device is provided for urea derivatives or urea entrained in an edge layer of the exhaust gas flow from an oversaturated edge layer of the exhaust gas flow.

Flexible line segment for the exhaust system of an internal combustion engine

An exhaust system () for an internal combustion engine has an exhaust line (), which has at least one exhaust pipe () having a pipe wall () with an inner side () defining an exhaust gas path () guiding an exhaust gas flow () and an electric heating device () for heating at least one length section of the exhaust pipe (). An efficient design is obtained if a heating coil () is wound several times around the exhaust pipe () on an outer side () of the pipe wall () in the respective length section and has an electric conductor () made of a resistance heating material. An electric insulator () is arranged between the conductor () and the outer side () of the pipe wall (). A heat-insulating cover () envelops the exhaust pipe () at least in the area of the respective heating coil ().

Heating device for an exhaust system

A flexible line element (), for an exhaust system () of an internal combustion engine (), especially of a motor vehicle, includes a metal bellows (), which is corrugated in a ring-shaped or helical pattern and through which an exhaust gas stream () can flow. The risk of deposition of urea and/or urea derivatives in the metal bellows () is reduced by a conical flow guide body (), through which the exhaust gas stream () can flow, and which tapers in the direction of flow of the exhaust gas stream and which protrudes into an inlet area () of the metal bellows (). The flexible line element () is combined with the flow guide body () integrated therein.
