A support band for a wearable electronic device includes a first band portion, a second band portion, and an adjustment assembly. A cable is connected to the second band portion extends through a first passage and a second passage of a cable lock that is connected to the first band portion. The locking features allow movement of the cable in a tightening direction and restrain movement of the cable in a loosening direction. A cable pull engages a first portion of the cable between the first passage and the second passage. The cable pull moves away from the cable lock during an extension stroke, and the cable pull moves toward the cable lock during a return stroke.

A display system includes a display, a removable lens assembly, and a lens detection sensor. The removable lens is removably coupleable to the display. The lens detection sensor detects the removable lens assembly coupled to the display. The display system may further include a head-mounted display unit that includes the display and the lens detection sensor. The display system may lens information from the removable lens with the lens detection sensor, and may provide an indicator of the removable lens according to the lens information.

A head-mounted display unit includes a display assembly and a head support coupled to the display assembly that supports the head-mounted display unit worn on a head of a user. The head support includes a band that is formed from a stretchable material to allow for expansion and contraction of the band, a cord that extends through the band, and an adjustment mechanism that is coupled to the cord and is configured to extend and retract the cord to thereby shorten and lengthen the head support.

Systems of the present disclosure can provide a head-mountable device with a head securement element that is integrated with a light seal module, which provides effective and comfortable engagement with a face of the user. By providing the head securement element with a light seal module, both head securement and face engagement can be customized or otherwise selected for achieving the desired fit for a given user. Accordingly, the head securement element (e.g., band, arms, and the like) can be primarily or exclusively secured to an HMD module via a light seal module.

A head-mounted display unit includes a display assembly and a head support coupled to the display assembly for supporting the head-mounted display unit on a head of a user. The head support includes a band and an adjustment mechanism coupled to the band to lengthen the head support. The adjustment mechanism includes a base and a spool coupled to the base, a tape that extends from the adjustment mechanism through the band, and one or more springs rotatably coupled at first ends to the spool and fixedly coupled at second ends to the tape. The springs apply force to the tape to maintain the tape in tension during expansion and retraction of the band.

A head-mounted device may include a housing structure, a display module mounted in the housing structure, and adjustable support structures coupled to the housing structure. The adjustable support structures may include a first portion that rests against a user's forehead and second and third portions that rest against the user's cheeks or temples. In some arrangements, the adjustable support structures include posts with adjustable lengths, telescoping layers of material, inflatable structures, and/or elastomeric materials that expand and retract to accommodate different face shapes and sizes. In some arrangements, the adjustable support structures include a cable located in a flexible member. When pressure is applied to a forehead portion of the flexible member, the cable pulls the temple portions of the flexible member towards each other. In some arrangements, the adjustable support structures include a movable member that pivots about a pivot axis.

An accessory case that can be used for protecting a separate portable electronic device may include a structural shell configured to contain the electronic device, a camera opening to align with a camera on the electronic device, and a button cover that can be used for actuating a button on the electronic device. The structural shell can include an outer layer, an internal layer, and a microfiber lining. The camera opening can include a chamfered or angled edge that reduces the effects of camera flash on the camera. The button cover can include an outer button cover component that is coupled to the outer layer. The outer button cover component, which may be anodized aluminum, can be a different material than the outer layer, which may include leather.
