A composite hollow fiber membrane having improved water permeability and peel strength and a manufacturing method thereof are disclosed. The composite hollow fiber membrane includes a tubular polymer membrane having an outer surface and an inner surface, and a tubular braid disposed between the outer surface and the inner surface of the tubular polymer membrane, the tubular braid comprises a plurality of yarns, each of the yarns includes first multifilaments and second multifilaments, each of the first multifilaments includes a plurality of first monofilaments having fineness of 3 to 50 denier, and each of the second multifilaments includes a plurality of second monofilaments having fineness of 0.4 to 3 denier.

Composite hollow fiber membrane and manufacturing method thereof

Disclosed is a submerged-type compact filtration apparatus of minimized footprint which can be installed easily, maintained safely and conveniently, and operated with substantially reduced energy. The submerged-type filtration apparatus of the invention comprises a filtration bath disposed over a ground; a filtration membrane cassette configured to be installed in the filtration bath; and a first guide disposed in the filtration bath and configured to guide the filtration membrane cassette when the filtration membrane cassette is inserted into the filtration bath so as to be installed therein.

The filtration method of the invention comprises performing a preliminary filtration of a feed water with first and second submerged-type filtration membrane modules; pressurizing an initial filtrate produced through the preliminary filtration with a pressure higher than an osmotic pressure of the feed water; filtering the pressurized initial filtrate with a reverse osmosis membrane module; interrupting the first submerged-type filtration membrane module performing the preliminary filtration; and backwashing the first submerged-type filtration membrane module caused to stop performing the preliminary filtration, wherein the preliminary filtration with the second submerged-type filtration membrane module is continuously performed while the first submerged-type filtration membrane module is backwashed.

Disclosed is a header which can prevent a fixing layer for fixing the filtration membrane in the header from being detached from the header and a filtration membrane module comprising the same. A filtration membrane module of the present invention comprises a filtration membrane, a header comprising a case having an opening at an upper part thereof and a partition dividing an inner space of the case into a first space for insertion of the filtration membrane and a second space for fixing the filtration membrane, and a fixing layer. The filtration membrane is potted in the fixing layer which, together with the case, forms a filtrate collecting space in the first space. The partition has a through-hole. The fixing layer exists in at least a portion of the first space, in the second space, and in the through-hole of the partition as well.

The pressurized-type hollow fiber membrane module comprises: a body case having an open end; a fixing member disposed in the body case at the open end; a hollow fiber membrane potted in the fixing member; and a cap on the open end of the body case, the cap and fixing member forming a filtrate-collecting space, wherein a lumen of the hollow fiber membrane is in fluid communication with the filtrate-collecting space, the fixing member has a step so that an upper side surface of the fixing member is not in contact with an inner surface of the body case, and a portion of the cap is inserted in a groove defined by the step of the fixing member and the inner surface of the body case.

Disclosed is an aeration unit capable of cleaning all the hollow fiber membranes in a filtering apparatus sufficiently and uniformly thereby improving the filtration efficiency and a filtering apparatus comprising the same. An aeration unit of the present invention comprises a plurality of aeration tubes parallel to each other, each of the aeration tubes comprising a first end and a second end opposite the first end; and a first common pipe in fluid communication with the aeration tubes through the first ends of the aeration tubes to provide the aeration tubes with air. The first common pipe is perpendicular to the aeration tubes. The closer to both ends of the first common pipe the aeration tubes are, the more densely the aeration tubes are arranged.

Aeration unit and filtering apparatus comprising the same

Disclosed is a filtering apparatus capable of minimizing the relative vibration of the filtering membrane module within the frame structure during the aeration cleaning process, thereby preventing the damage of the filtering membrane module which might be caused due to the relative vibration as well as the separation of the filtering membrane module from the frame structure. The filtering apparatus comprises a frame structure including a cross bar and a filtering membrane module installed in the frame structure. The cross bar comprises a first rib inserted into a receiver of the header of the filtering membrane module. The filtering apparatus further comprises a stopper fastened to an end of the first rib passing through a through-hole of the receiver so as to prevent the filtering membrane module from being separated from the frame structure.
