A website server computer hosting a website can identify a visitor to the website by using information provided by a visitor server computer that interacts with the visitor. The information provided by the server computer, in some embodiments, can be a combination of an IP address and characteristics of a computing device from where the visitor visits the website. In some embodiments, the IP address of the visitor server computer is used. In embodiments where the visitor may be sharing the computing device with other users, the characteristics may include at least one characteristic that is uniquely associated with the visitor. The website server computer can use a visitor identifier thus generated to start tracking the pages that the visitor requests during the session and can generate and customize pages for the visitor by using characteristics originated from the visitor.

Method and system for identifying website visitors

An order management system and method are provided for automated management of the trading activity between a buy-side firm and sell-side firm. A trade rotation list is defined that governs trades. Items on the trade rotation list are defined by at least one characteristic that is used to match a trade by assigning a sequence number to that trade. An eligibility policy and a rotation method can be defined for each trade list. The rotation method rotates the sequence in which sponsors receive block trades, so that sponsors alternate the advantage of trading first. A trade route within an order management system comprises a trade context and an allocation context. One of the trade context or allocation context or both are referenced by metadata characteristics. If the trade route references a context by name, then the trade order is routed to the trade proxy associated with the context. If the trade route references the context by metadata, then the context to be used is determined by looking up metadata of a trade order using the metadata specified in the trade route and matching that to the metadata of the context.

System and method for automated trade processing

A management system can associate the behavior of backend and application systems with a web site visitor's browsing behavior and activity at a web site. In one embodiment, the management system can time order requests and events from server computers communicatively connected to the management system. Each of these requests and events may contain a time stamp and a user identification. Each event for a user identified by the user identification is associated with a request from that user that is the closest in time to the event according to the time ordering. This can allow more relevant personalized content be sent to the user based on the user's most recent views and/or activity on the web site.

System and method of associating events with requests

A system and method for financial account reconciliation of a portfolio account system includes, for investments that are not reported as trades once an order to purchase has been placed, using a computer to electrically match investments that are not reported as trades to unmatched transactions of the portfolio account system. In this manner investments that are not reported as trades once an order to purchase has been placed do not create breaks of the portfolio account system.

System and method for reconciling financial records by matching outstanding trade orders to unmatched transactions

Management software that can associate events, including non page events, such as the generation of dynamic content, with HTTP requests. The management software can receive a set of HTTP request data including a request time stamp for each HTTP request in a set of HTTP requests, receive a set of event data including an event time stamp for each event in a set of events and associate each event from the set of events with a previous HTTP request from the set of HTTP requests based on the event time stamps and request time stamps. Each event can be associated with previous HTTP request closest in time.

A system and method for reconciling financial records is provided. Breaks are screened by user defined rules to categorize breaks into categories of relatively higher and relatively lower importance so that relatively higher importance breaks can be presented to the user. Values from a custodian system can be automatically accepted. Certain types of transaction differences may be selected to be automatically corrected. The types of corrections to be applied are selected. The financial account reconciliation system is updated with the values. For investments that are not reported as trades once the order to purchase has been placed, outstanding trade orders may be matched to unmatched transactions. For updates sent for an older transaction, back-dated transactions may be compared by automatically loading historical transactions and comparing historical transactions to a back-dated transaction as if it were not backdated. For investments that have information that will not be known until the investments are settled, proper matching of positions and transactions that have not yet settled may be enabled by identifying and ignoring the position and transaction breaks this unknown information causes.

System and method for reconciling financial records

Systems and methods are described which allow the detection of gaps in a set of data. These systems and methods may include defining streams of data from a network topology, associating incoming data with one or more of these streams, and processing these streams. A gap may be detected by comparing the times of events in the stream. If a gap is detected remedial action may be taken, and processing of the streams temporarily halted. Processing of the streams may continue when data for a certain stream is received, or after the lapse of a certain period of time.

A method and system can be used to identify visitors at a network site (e.g., a website) by using a combination of an address (e.g., IP address) and characteristic(s) of an individual visitor computer. Examples of the characteristic of the individual visitor computer can include the type of the computer, CPU identifier, OS, browser application and version, compatibility of the browser application with other browser applications, display size, screen resolution, locale information, installed plug-in software component(s), mimetypes supported, whether a programming language is enabled, accessory(ies) that can be activated by a browser application, or any other information that may be used in locating or generating a page. The method and system is more accurate than just using an IP address, and the information used for visitor identification will not usually be blocked if cookies are unavailable.
