A display apparatus is disclosed. The present display apparatus comprises: a display panel; a backlight unit configured to provide light to the display panel by using a plurality of light-emitting elements; a driver configured to provide a driving current to the plurality of light-emitting elements on the basis of an amplitude of a driving voltage; a memory storing information on an amplitude of a driving voltage according to a plurality of brightnesses for each resistance value of an output resistor connected to the driver; and a processor configured to set a resistance value of the output resistor on the basis of a brightness value of the display panel, identify an amplitude of the driving voltage corresponding to the brightness value of the display panel from among amplitudes of the driving voltage according to the plurality of brightnesses corresponding to the set resistance value on the basis of the information stored in the memory, and apply the driving voltage of the identified amplitude to the driver, wherein an amplitude of the driving current is determined on the basis of the amplitude of the driving voltage and the resistance value of the output resistor.

Display apparatus and method for controlling display apparatus

A display apparatus includes: an external input port which is connectable with an external apparatus; a power supply; a display; and at least one processor configured to: obtain first power consumed in the display based on brightness information of the display, determine second power suppliable to the external input port based on the first power consumed and supply power of the power supply, receive information about third power that is configured to supply power to an external apparatus connected to the external input port from the external apparatus, determine fourth power supplied to the external input port based on the second power and the information about the third power, determine an over current protection (OCP) value based on the fourth power, and stop power supply to the external apparatus based on a current value supplied to the external input port exceeding the OCP value.

Display apparatus and control method thereof

A display device is disclosed. The display device may comprise: a power supply configured to generate power; an external input port, which can be connected to at least one external device; a display; and a processor configured to: acquire brightness information about the display, identify first power information required by the display based on the acquired brightness information, and adjust, based on the identified first power information and second power information provided from the power supply, power supplied to the external input port.
