Provided is a lithium air battery, particularly, a lithium air battery capable of being easily charged and discharged to thereby improve performance and reliability, having economic feasibility, preventing leakage of ions, and having firmly inter-coupled electrodes to thereby improve durability.

Lithium air battery

Provided is a cathode active material for a secondary battery, specifically, a cathode active material for a secondary battery including sodium transition metal pyrophosphate satisfying NaAMM(PO), which has an advantage of structural stability due to a strong P&#x2014;O bond of sodium transition metal phosphate having an olivine structure, and also performs proper intercalation and deintercalation of Na ions having a large ion radius, thereby significantly improving reversibility during charging and discharging, and a charge and discharge rate.

Positive electrode active material for secondary battery

Provided is a lithium air battery in which a catalyst layer of a cathode contacting an electrolyte and using oxygen in the air as an active material is coupled to a membrane through which lithium ions pass, such that even though charge and discharge of the battery is repeated, the catalyst layer may not be detached, and a microporous polyolefin-based film is applied to the battery, such that a water-based electrolyte solvent may be prevented from being evaporated, thereby preventing performance deterioration due to repetition of the charge and discharge of the lithium air battery, and extending life span.

Provided is a lithium air battery, and more particular, a lithium air battery including a buffer layer consisting of a conductive ion-exchange resin and a mesoporous carbon formed between an electrolyte and a catalyst layer configuring a cathode to prevent a contact between the catalyst layer and a large amount of electrolyte in the lithium air battery, thereby reducing occurrence of overvoltage at the time of charging and discharging the battery. At the same time, the lithium air battery of the present invention may suppress evaporation of the electrolyte solution to improve durability, thereby preventing deterioration in performance of the battery, and extending a lifespan.

Provided is a method for preparing a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, the method comprising: mixing and reacting a nickel source, a cobalt source, and an aluminum source, ammonia water, sucrose, and a pH adjusting agent to prepare a mixed solution; drying and oxidizing the mixed solution to prepare a positive electrode active material precursor; and adding a lithium source to the positive electrode active material precursor and firing them to prepare a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery.
