A battery diagnosis apparatus determines whether a battery may be reused and includes a data obtaining device configured to output a perturbation signal, a signal regulating device configured to generate a current by applying the perturbation signal to a battery and performing feedback of a current signal output from the battery, and a noise canceling device configured to cancel noises of the current signal and a voltage signal received from the battery. The data obtaining device outputs the perturbation signal while changing a frequency, obtains an impedance spectrum based on the noise-canceled current signal and voltage signal for each frequency, and determines whether to reuse the battery based on the obtained impedance spectrum.

Disclosed is a cathode current collector for an electrical energy storage device and a method for manufacturing the same, which improves adhesion between a current collector and an electrode material and provide a high reaction surface area, thereby improving the performance of the electrical energy storage. In particular, a first alumina film is formed on the surface of an aluminum foil using an anodic oxidation process. Next, the first alumina film formed on a surface of the aluminum foil is removed through etching and a second alumina film is formed on the surface of the aluminum foil, from which the first alumina film is removed, using the anodic oxidation process again. Cathode current collector for electrical energy storage device and method for manufacturing the same

Disclosed is method of fabricating sulfur-infiltrated mesoporous conductive nanocomposites for a cathode of a lithium-sulfur secondary battery, whereby a cathode material having a relatively high content of sulfur is fabricated and a high energy density in a lithium-sulfur secondary battery is realized, including: a) performing thermal treatment on sulfur particles in a reactor at a high temperature to melt the sulfur particles; b) adding a mesoporous conductive material in macroscale to a sulfur solution in the reactor; c) pressurizing the mesoporous conductive material in macroscale in the reactor so that the mesoporous conductive material in macroscale is completely immersed in the sulfur solution, and then maintaining the pressurized and molten state; d) cooling the sulfur particles and the mesoporous conductive material in macroscale so that sulfur within pores of the mesoporous conductive material in macroscale is crystallized; and e) grinding sulfur-infiltrated mesoporous conductive composites to fabricate sulfur-infiltrated mesoporous conductive nanocomposites.

Disclosed are a lithium electrode for a lithium metal battery, which uses a solid high-ionic conductor having a three-dimensional (3D) porous structure, wherein a lithium metal or lithium alloy is filled into each pore and dispersed, and a method for manufacturing the lithium electrode. By applying a solid high-ionic conductor having a 3D porous structure, an ion conduction path is secured in the lithium electrode using the solid high-ionic conductor instead of a conventional liquid electrolyte, electrical-chemical reactivity in charging and discharging are further improved, and shelf life and high rate capability are enhanced.

Lithium electrode for lithium metal battery and method of manufacturing the lithium electrode

Disclosed is a lithium ion-sulfur battery including a lithium metal used as a supply source of lithium ions, a sulfur electrode used as a positive electrode and an intercalation electrode. The intercalation electrode is (i) interposed between the lithium metal and the sulfur electrode, (ii) has a structure capable of causing an intercalation reaction, and (iii) is used as a negative electrode after the lithium ions are intercalated from the lithium metal to be charged and discharged together with the sulfur electrode. The lithium metal is used only to intercalate the lithium ions into the intercalation electrode during initial use, and the intercalation electrode, into which the lithium ions are intercalated, is used as a negative electrode during actual use. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the formation of dendrite caused when the lithium ions are used as the negative electrode, and thus the charge/discharge durability is improved.

Lithium ion-sulfur battery and electrode for the same

Disclosed is a metal-sulfur electrode for a lithium-sulfur battery and a method for preparing the same. More particularly, a metal-sulfur electrode for a lithium-sulfur battery is prepared by coating a slurry mixture including sulfur, a conductive material and a binder as an electrode active material on a metal electrode and drying the same while applying an electric field such that the conductive material is aligned adequately so as to provide maximize efficiency during repeated charging and discharging when used in the anode of the lithium-sulfur battery.
