Provided are a chip with a stereoscopic texture for a resin-based reinforced natural stone and a resin-based reinforced natural stone including the same. A chip with a stereoscopic texture can be obtained by coating a pigment on a surface of a crushed reinforced natural stone chip. In a resin-based reinforced natural stone to which the chip with a stereoscopic texture is added, a boundary surface between the chip and a matrix is formed, such that a texture of natural stone and a three-dimensional stereoscopic effect may be implemented, thereby making it possible to implement an aesthetically beautiful surface.

An artificial silica marble comprises a matrix and a line pattern portion. The line pattern portion comprises fine lines having a width of about 50 to about 500 &#x3bc;m and forms a web- or net-like pattern. The line pattern portion divides or partitions the artificial silica marble into a plurality of irregularly shaped pattern portions to form an amorphous pattern in the cross section of the artificial silica marble.

An artificial marble according to a second embodiment includes about 70 to about 95% by weight of a non-luminescent base material (I) comprising unsaturated polyester resin (A), compound including silica (B), and organic/inorganic pigment (C) and about 5 to about 30% by weight of a luminescent amorphous pattern part (II) comprising unsaturated polyester resin (A), compound including silica (B), and luminescent pigment (D). An artificial marble according to a third embodiment includes unsaturated polyester resin (A), compound including silica (B), and amorphous luminescent chip (C).

Artificial marble having natural textures and luminescent patterns and method of preparing the same

The present invention provides transparent chips with natural metal-like texture by coating silica-containing transparent chips with colored material, such as a metal powder, in a transparent resin as a base resin. The present invention also provides artificial stone with natural metal-like texture and patterns by mixing the colored material coated transparent chips and inorganic filler with a matrix resin. The artificial stone of the present invention can be prepared by mixing about 4 to about 24 parts by weight of inorganic filler and about 0.1 to about 5.0 parts by weight of the colored material coated transparent chips, per about 1 part by weight of the matrix resin. The colored material coated transparent chips can have a specific gravity of about 2.0 to about 2.65, while the matrix resin can have a specific gravity of about 2.2 to about 2.8, and the specific gravity of the transparent chips can be equal to or lower than the specific gravity of the matrix resin in promote uniform distribution of the transparent chips in the matrix resin.
