An overload protection system includes a panelboard and a load management system (LMS) which is configured to constantly measure the total amount of power being used at the panelboard such that when the total amount of energy measured is at or above a high programmed level, the LMS stops power from being supplied to a load and when the total amount of energy measured is at or below a low programmed level, the LMS allows power to be supplied to the load. The LMS includes a monitoring relay with a 'threshold hysteresis' built-in, which means that a threshold current at which an output switches from one state to another state is different depending on whether an input current is increasing or decreasing. The “threshold hysteresis” helps to eliminate noise and ensure that the output switches cleanly between ON and OFF, even if an input current level is fluctuating around a threshold current level.

A circuit breaker which includes first and second contact pairs and a contact arm arranged in series. A first arm contact and a first terminal contact from a first line terminal form a first contact pair. A second arm contact and a second terminal contact from a second line terminal contact form a second contact pair. The first contact pair, contact arm and second contact pair are connected in a series arrangement in which the air gaps formed when the first and second contact pairs are separated combine to form an effective air gap which is double in size and thus increases an interrupting capacity of the circuit breaker. An arc chamber is associated with the first and second contact pairs for extinguishing an arc formed in the air gaps. The first and second contact pairs may also be arranged in a parallel configuration for increasing an amperage rating of the circuit breaker.

The present invention relates generally to a plastic cradle. More particularly, the invention encompasses a plastic cradle utilized inside a molded circuit breaker (MCB). The present invention is also directed to a novel nonconductive nonmagnetic cradle that engages a contact arm between a first terminal conductor and a second terminal conductor inside a molded circuit breaker (MCB) in an ON state, and disengages same in an OFF or Neutral state.
