A two-card assembly includes: a first printed wiring board; a second printed wiring board; a first stiffener secured to the first printed wiring board, the first stiffener interposed between the first printed wiring board and the second printed wiring board; a second stiffener secured to the second printed wiring board, the second stiffener interposed between the first stiffener and second printed wiring board; a transformer mounting plate interposed between the first stiffener and the second stiffener; and a planar transformer secured to the transformer mounting plate. The transformer mounting plate dissipates heat from the planar transformer.

A cold plate and a method of manufacturing a cold plate involve a first side with a first surface, and a second side, opposite the first side, with a second surface opposite the first surface. The cold plate includes a flow channel formed between the first side and the second side, and a cavity integrally machined into the first surface of the first side. The cavity seats an inductor and is defined by an outer wall and a base with thicker sections and thinner sections such that even the thicker sections of the base are thinner than a thickness of the first surface.

A plurality of fins are positioned to conduct thermal energy from the toroidal transformer to the base.

A core for an electric machine includes a core component having a plurality of core teeth defining a plurality of core slots between adjacent core teeth of the plurality of core teeth. The plurality of core slots are receptive of one or more windings. A coolant flowpath through the core component is formed through at least one core tooth. The at least one core tooth has one or more coolant tube banks and one or more mixing chambers arranged in an alternating pattern along the at least one core tooth.
