A blade segment () for a refiner () for refining fibrous material has first () and second () end edges opposite one another in a direction of a longitudinal axis (LA) of the blade segment (), and first () and second () side edges which extend between the first end edge and the second end edge. The blade segment has a refining surface () with blade bars () and grooves () therebetween on a front surface () of the blade segment (). At least one side edge () has at least two edge portions () arranged to deviate from the direction of the longitudinal axis (LA) of the blade segment () and connected by an elbow () between each two edge portions ().

Blade segment for refiner

A processing plate () for mechanically processing pulp. The plate has projecting parts (). The projecting parts () have a radially inner part () having an inclined ascending wall () towards the outer periphery () of the plate and a radially outer part () having an inclined descending wall () towards the outer periphery () of the plate (). The inner and outer parts () are radially coupled to each other by a ridge () along a coupling line (CL). The walls () are mutually connected only partly so that they have in common only a crest section () of the ridge () which crest section () is less than a width of at least one of the wall () of the inner part () and the wall () of the outer part () at the coupling line (CL).

Device for mechanically processing lignocellulose-containing fibrous material

A blade element () for a comminution device () to comminute fiber material has at least one comminution section () with comminution parts () and free spaces () therebetween, and at least one feed section () extending at least partly in a longitudinal direction (X) of the blade element (), each feed section () intended to feed fiber material to the respective comminution section (). The comminution parts have a first dimension (d, d, d, d, d, d) extending in a circumferential direction (C) of the blade element and a second dimension (e, e, e, e, e, e) extending in the longitudinal direction (X) of the blade element. At the same longitudinal (X) position in the blade element () the first dimension of the comminution parts is arranged to increase in the circumferential direction (C) of the blade element toward the feed section.

Blade element

A blade segment () for a refiner comprises an inner end edge () and an outer end edge () and a first side edge () and a second side edge () opposite to the first side edge (), the first side edge () and the second side edge () extending between the inner end edge () and the outer end edge (), and a refining surface () comprising blade bars () and blade grooves () therebetween on a front surface () of the blade segment (). At least one side edge () of the blade segment () comprises at least one opening () that extends from the side edge () toward the opposite side edge ().

A blade element () for a refiner () for refining fibrous material has an inner edge () and an outer edge () and first blade bars () and first blade grooves () therebetween, the first blade bars and the first blade grooves extending toward the outer edge of the blade element. At top surfaces of the first blade bars there are second blade bars () and second blade grooves () therebetween. At least some of the second blade bars () lying on an outer end portion () of the blade element () have a width which is larger than a width of second blade bars () lying on an inner end portion () of the blade element () and/or is increasing in direction toward the outer edge () of the blade element ().

Blade element for refiner

A blade segment of a disc refiner for refining fibrous material has an inner circumference and an outer circumference as well as a first side edge and a second side edge which connect the inner circumference and the outer circumference. The side edges are curved, with one convex and the other concave. The segment has a refining surface with blade bars and grooves which define a pumping direction. The side edges of the blade segment curve in the vicinity of the inner circumference in the pumping direction, and in the vicinity of the outer circumference in a non-pumping direction.

Blade segment of disc refiner

A blade element () for a conical portion () of a stator () of a refiner (). The blade element () has a feed end (), a discharge end (), and a refining surface () which has a feed zone () at the feed end () of the blade element (). The feed zone () of the blade element () has at least one guide groove () extending from the feed end () toward the discharge end () for guiding a flow of material to be refined from the feed end () toward the discharge end (). The depth of the guide groove () is arranged to change in a direction transverse in relation to the extending direction of the guide groove ().

A refiner comprises at least one first refining surface (') and at least one second refining surface (&#x2032;), which refining surfaces () are arranged opposite to one another and mobile in relation to one another. In the refiner () either at least the first (&#x2032;) or the second (&#x2032;) refining surface comprises refining surface portions () feeding material to be refined and/or refining surface portions () discharging refined material as well as refining surface portions () grinding the material to be refined, on the upper surface of which there are blade bars () and between them blade grooves (). Both in the first refining surface (&#x2032;) and in the second refining surface (&#x2032;) of the refiner () the cross-sectional area (A) of at least some blade grooves () are arranged to change in the longitudinal direction of the blade grooves ().

Refiner and blade element

A refiner () for refining fibrous material has a first refining surface (') and a second refining surface (&#x2032;) arranged opposite to one another and mobile in relation to one another. The refining surfaces have refining surface portions () feeding material to be refined and/or discharging refined material as well as refining surface portions () grinding the material to be refined, on the upper surface of which there are blade bars () and between them blade grooves (). In the refining surface () of the refiner () the cross-sectional area (A) of at least some blade grooves () is arranged to decrease from one blade groove () to the next from the direction of the feed edge () to the direction of the discharge edge () of the refining surface ().

A refiner blade comprising a blade surface for defibrating a lignocellulose-containing material, the blade surface comprising blade bars and blade grooves provided therebetween. At least one blade groove provided in the blade surface is formed by removing material from the blade surface by water cutting.

Refiner blade and segment, as well as a method of forming them and a method of modifying blade grooves

A refining surface of a refining member, adapted for use with a refiner for defibrating a lignocellulose-containing material, is provided. Such a refining surface comprises a plurality of first grooves, each first groove being defined between two adjacent first bar portions of the refining surface, and extending between opposing first and second radial edges of the refining surface. The refining surface further comprises a plurality of second grooves, each second groove being defined between two adjacent second bar portions of the refining surface forming each first bar portion, and extending between two adjacent second grooves. The first bar portions are wider than the second bar portions, and each second bar portion are between about 1 mm and about 3 mm wide. A blade segment of a refining member is also provided.
