A method for a UE () to transmit HARQ feedback for data transmissions from a wireless network is disclosed. The UE receives (), from the network, a first data message associated with a first HARQ process and a second data message associated with a second HARQ process. At least one of the first and second HARQ processes is disabled. The second data message is received after the first data message. The UE selectively transmits (), at a first occasion after the first data message, first HARQ feedback for the first data message based on whether the first HARQ process is enabled or disabled. The UE selectively transmits, at a second occasion after the second data message, second HARQ feedback for the second data message based on the following: whether the second HARQ process is enabled or disabled, an order of the first and second occasions, and an out-of-order scheduling restriction.

Methods and apparatus for disabled HARQ processes

Techniques for facilitating dedicated transmissions over preconfigured uplink resources. Systems and methods are disclosed for random access in a wireless communication system such as, e.g., a wireless communication system having a non-terrestrial (e.g., satellite-based) radio access network. Embodiments of a method performed by a wireless device and corresponding embodiments of a wireless device are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for random access comprises performing an open-loop timing advance estimation procedure to thereby determine an open-loop timing advance estimate for an uplink between the wireless device and a base station. In this manner, random access can be performed even in the presence of a long propagation delay such as that present in a satellite-based radio access network. According to one aspect, a method is performed by a network node for scheduling a plurality of wireless devices with periodic preconfigured uplink shared channel resources. A method, network node and wireless device for determining wake up signal (WUS) repetitions are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method implemented in a wireless device, WD, includes determining information about a transmit antenna configuration of a network node; determining information about an activity level of the WD; determining a number of wake up signal, WUS, repetitions based on the transmit antenna configuration and the activity level; and receiving a WUS signal, the WUS signal having at least the determined number of WUS repetitions. A method implemented in a network node includes obtaining information about an activity level of a wireless device, WD; selecting a transmit antenna configuration; determining a number of wake up signal, WUS, repetitions based on the transmit antenna configuration and the activity level; and transmitting a WUS signal, the WUS signal having at least the determined number of WUS repetitions.

A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in idle mode, for determining common search space (CSS) for NB-IoT paging is disclosed. The method comprises determining a set of periodic subframes as a Paging Occasion (PO) subframe pattern. The method further comprises monitoring a starting subframe of paging CSS for a Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI). The starting subframe of paging CSS is determined as follows: a first subframe (SF) defined by the Paging Occasion subframe pattern, is used when SFis determined to be a valid downlink subframe. A next valid downlink subframe after SFis used when SFis determined to be an invalid downlink subframe.

A method in a network node includes communicating, over a narrowband Internet of Things downlink, a first message to a first wireless device during repetition periods of at least a first time frame and a second time frame of a plurality of time frames of a transmission time of a narrowband physical downlink control channel (NB-PDCCH) or a narrowband physical downlink shared channel (NB-PDSCH). Each time frame of the plurality of time frames includes a repetition period and a gap. The method also includes communicating a second message to a second wireless device during a gap of the first time frame.

Random Access (RA) formats are defined for NB-IoT operation in TDD mode. The formats are defined to allow use of the legacy LTE subframe configurations for TDD. The formats specify a predetermined, even number P of symbol groups composing a RA preamble, wherein each symbol group comprises a Cyclic Prefix (CP) and a number X of symbols. The P symbol groups are divided into symbol group sets fitting into 1, or 2, or 3 contiguous uplink subframes, each comprising at least two symbol groups transmitted back-to-back (i.e., contiguously in time), and at least two symbol group sets are transmitted non-contiguously in time across a number of uplink subframes over which the RA preamble is transmitted. The number of symbol groups in a set can be two or three, and the number of symbol groups is four or six, respectively. Symbol groups within a set are transmitted on adjacent uplink subframes. Five format options are defined, which map to various of the LTE TDD configurations.
