A pulley structure may be equipped with an outer rotating body, an inner rotating body, and a coil spring provided between the outer rotating body and the inner rotating body. The coil spring is configured so as to undergo torsional deformation in a diameter-expanding or a diameter-contracting direction, thereby engaging the outer rotating body and the inner rotating body and transmitting torque, and to undergo torsional deformation in the direction opposite the direction in which torque is transmitted, thereby entering a disengaged state in which the coil spring slides with the outer rotating body or the inner rotating body, thus interrupting the transmission of torque. The number of windings of the coil spring is in a range between [M-0.125] and M (both inclusive), where M is a natural number.

Pulley structure

A pulley structure may be equipped with an outer rotating body, an inner rotating body, and a coil spring. The pulley structure has a cross section of the spring wire of the coil spring along a direction running along the rotational axis and parallel to the rotational axis being a trapezoidal shape, and the length of an inner-diameter-side portion in the rotational axis direction in the cross section being greater than the length of an outer-diameter-side portion in the rotational axis direction in the cross section.

A pulley structure includes a cylindrical outer rotation body, an inner rotation body, and a pair of bearings which is disposed between the outer rotation body and the inner rotation body. Of the pair of bearings, one bearing is a sliding bearing, and the other bearing is a rolling bearing. The sliding bearing is made of a thermoplastic resin and is formed into an ended ring shape. A thickness of the sliding bearing at each of both circumferential end portions is smaller than a reference dimension of a thickness of the sliding bearing.

A pulley structure may include: a tubular outer rotating body having a belt looped thereon; an inner rotating body which is disposed radially inside the outer rotating body and which is rotatable relative to the outer rotating body; and a torsional coil spring which is arranged in a spring accommodating space formed between the outer rotating body and the inner rotating body. At least in a state in which the pulley structure has not been operated even once, grease containing a rust inhibitor is applied to an opposing surface of the inner rotating body opposing an inner peripheral surface of the torsional coil spring.

Pulley structure and method for manufacturing pulley structure

The pulley structure includes a ventilation path that is formed at a position shifted in a radial direction from a rotating axis of a first rotating body and allows a spring accommodation space, formed between the first rotating body and a second rotating body, and the outside to communicate with each other. At least a part of the ventilation path is formed in an end cap that blocks an opening portion on one side of the first rotating body in a rotating axis direction. The end cap blocks the opening portion of the first rotating body such that the spring accommodation space does not communicate with the outside toward the one side in the rotating axis direction other than the ventilation path.

The present invention relates to a pulley structure containing a first rotatable body, a second rotatable body and a torsional coil spring, in which the torsional coil spring has one end region, the outer circumferential surface of which is in contact with one rotatable body due to the self elastic restoring force when the pulley structure is in a stopped state, the other end region, the inner circumferential surface of which is in contact with the other rotatable body when the pulley structure is in the stopped state, and a middle region, and in which when the torsional coil spring is twisted in the diameter increasing direction, the inner circumferential surface of at least a circumferential portion of the other end region of the torsional coil spring separates from the other rotatable body.

The present power transmission mechanism comprises: a first rotation member mounted integrally rotatably on the rotation shaft of a drive apparatus; a second rotation member rotatable integrally with or relative to the first rotation member; an elastic member interposed between the first and second rotation members which, when the first and second rotation members rotate relative to each other, absorbs a rotation difference between them; and, a switching portion which includes a mass member mounted on one of the first and second rotation members and rotatable integrally therewith, and an energizing member for energizing the mass member in a direction where it can be contacted with the other of the first and second rotation members. In the switching portion, when the number of rotations of the rotation shaft is a given number of rotations or less, the mass member is contacted with the other rotation member due to the energizing force of the energizing member to generate a frictional force between their contacted surfaces, thereby preventing the relative rotation between the first and second rotation members. And, when the number of rotations of the rotation shaft exceeds a given number of rotations, due to a centrifugal force generated from the rotation of the rotation shaft, the mass member is shifted against the energizing force of the energizing member and is separated from the other rotation member, thereby allowing the relative rotation between the first and second rotation members through the elastic member.

Power transmission mechanism

A pulley assembly has a first body to engage a power transmission belt. The first body is rotatable around a first axis. A second body is movable relative to the first body around the first axis. First and second axially spaced elastic members each has a radially inner portion and a radially outer portion. One of: (a) the radially inner portions of the first and second members; and (b) the radially outer portions of the first and second members are: (i) coupled to move together around the first axis; and (ii) each movable relative to the first and second bodies around the first axis. The other of: (a) the radially inner portions of the first and second members; and (b) the radially outer portions of the first and second members are fixedly coupled, one each to the first and second bodies, to follow movement of the first and second bodies around the first axis.
