Provided is an optical unit with a blur correction function, wherein even when a photoreflector and a drive mechanism for blur correction are provided in a movable module provided with an optical element, sizes in an optical axis direction and a direction crossing the optical axis direction can be prevented from increasing. In an optical unit () with a blur correction function, a drive mechanism () for blur correction is provided between the outer peripheral surface of an image capturing unit () and a fixed body () (upper cover ()), and a first photoreflector () and a second photoreflector () are provided between a bottom portion (substrate ()) of the image capturing unit () and the fixed body () (lower cover ()), between which a swing support () is provided. The first photoreflector () is provided in a position overlapping in the direction of an optical axis (L) with an axis line (X0) out of two axis lines (X0, Y0) when the image capturing unit () is swung, and the second photoreflector () is provide in a position overlapping in the direction of the optical axis (L) with the axis line (Y0).

An optical unit may include a fixed body; a movable module which holds an optical element; a swing support point which swingably supports the movable module; a shake correction drive mechanism which swings the movable module with the swing support point as a swing center around two axial lines intersecting an optical axis direction of the optical element between an outer peripheral face of the movable module and the fixed body; a first photo reflector provided between a bottom part of the movable module and the fixed body at a position superposing on one of the two axial lines and that detects displacement of the movable module; and a second photo reflector provided between the bottom part of the movable module and the fixed body at a position superposing on the other of the two axial lines and that detects displacement of the movable module.

In the invention, pairs of output transistors are provided. An actuator having an inductance is connected to nodes formed between the pairs of output transistors. A drive circuit for the actuator is arranged such that the actuator is driven by causing a drive current to flow into the inductance. The drive circuit has an overvoltage detection circuit for detecting whether or not a voltage appearing at the nodes of the output transistor pairs exceeds a supply voltage by a first predetermined level and whether or not the voltage becomes lower than a ground level by a second predetermined level. Output transistors connected to the nodes are activated by an output from the overvoltage detection circuit.

Actuator drive circuit

A method is provided for driving a motor apparatus having a first motor, a second motor, and a motor power supply commonly used for the first motor and the second motor. The first motor is a brushless motor. An electrical power is supplied from the motor power supply to driving circuits of the first motor and the second motor through a common motor power supply line. The first motor is driven by a direct PWM driving method, and the second motor is driven by a method different from the direct PWM driving method. A reverse regeneration current generated in the first motor is flown to the second motor through the common motor power supply line.

A pulse width modulated brushless electric motor employs a conductive metal screw or similar connector to create a common potential between the stator core and the iron substrate on which the motor drive circuit is mounted. By approximately setting the common potential to, for example, the base line of the power source and motor drive circuit, the noise electromagnetically generated by the pulse width modulation is suppressed.

A direct PWM brushless motor has a motor main body mounted on a metal substrate and a motor drive circuit formed on a circuit substrate that is separated from the metal substrate. The direct PWM brushless motor has a wiring cable connection device for connecting the motor main body and a fixed potential of the motor drive circuit, and a conduction device that conductively connects a metal plate portion of the metal substrate to the wiring cable connection device.

A delay signal rising after the passage of a predetermined time from the rising or falling of a position signal is formed by means of a delay circuit. While an offset circuit is used for sequentially monitoring the size relation between an induced electromotive voltage and a coil neutral point voltage, an offset is applied to the induced electromotive voltage when a regular speed detection signal is output from a comparator at the time the induced electromotive voltage and the coil neutral point voltage cross each other so as to raise the induced electromotive voltage up to the vicinity of a supply voltage Vcc or otherwise lower the induced electromotive voltage up to the vicinity of the ground potential. The inversion of the compared input voltage subjected to the waveform disturbance produced in the induced electromotive voltage due to the switching of energizing driving coils, speed error correction and the like is thus prevented and the offset signal is canceled after waveform disturbances are overlooked according to the delay signal and prior to the detection of the next speed detection signal.

A brushless motor speed detecting apparatus includes a stator having three-phase driving coils which are energized reciprocally in the positive and negative directions, a rotor having magnetic poles, three position detectors for obtaining three-phase output signals corresponding to the rotation of the rotor, a first synthesizing circuit for synthesizing the output signals of the three position detectors, mode switching circuit for forming an energizing mode switching signal according to the output signal of the first synthesizing circuit, a driving circuit for supplying currents to the driving coils by switching an energizing mode from a first energizing mode to a second energizing and vice versa according to the output signal of the mode switching circuit, and a second synthesizing circuit for synthesizing a speed signal by detecting in the non-energizing section of the first energizing mode the induced electromotive voltages generated in the driving coils as the rotor rotates to base the synthesis of the speed signal on the induced electromotive voltages.

The magnetic pole 16b for positional detection is attached to the magnetic pole 16a for driving of the rotor magnet 16 at a position shifted from the magnetic center C of the magnetic pole for driving by an electrical angle of about 30.degree.. Due to the foregoing, the magnetic detector for driving is used as a magnetic detector for positional detection, so that the position detecting signal 'c' can be obtained in a good condition. Therefore, it is unnecessary to provide a magnetic detector and a magnet piece which are conventionally used, so that the cost can be reduced, and it is also unnecessary to attach the magnet piece and the magnetic detector onto the base board. Accordingly, the manufacturing cost can be reduced, and further it is not required to maintain a space for installing the magnetic detector and the wiring thereof. In this way, it is possible to reduce the dimensions of the motor.

A magnetic detector, such as is used in a frequency generator, for detecting the rotational rate of a motor includes magnetic resistance elements and an operational amplifier. The magnetic resistance elements have a predetermined resistance ratio and are connected serially between a power source and ground. The common node between the two magnetic resistance elements serves as an output terminal for providing an output voltage. The output voltage from the output terminal being supplied to one of the two input terminals of the amplifier. The voltage from a resistance voltage divider disposed between the power source and ground is supplied to the other input terminal of the amplifier. A change of the resistance ratio between the two magnetic resistance elements is effected by a resistor disposed in series with the elements or in parallel with one of the elements. This change serves to equalize the DC component of the output voltage and the divided voltage and, consequently, common mode noise level effects of the power source are substantially eliminated.

The negative temperature dependency of the torque ripple correction capability of a known drive circuit is offset by making the amplitude of input voltage signals applied to a m-differential amplifier of the drive circuit positively temperature-dependent to improve the overall torque ripple correction capability of the circuit so that deteriorated torque ripples at low temperature and increase in the level of reactive currents at high temperature may be effectively eliminated. Moreover, since temperature induced deformation of waveforms of electric currents to be carried to soft switching coils of the drive circuit is minimized, a too rapid switching speed at low temperature is avoided to suppress generation of electric as well as mechanical noises, while too dull waveforms of electric currents at high temperature are also eliminated.
