A coated tool in a non-limiting embodiment of the present disclosure includes a base and a coating film located on the base. The coated tool includes a first surface, a second surface adjacent to the first surface, and a cutting edge located on at least a part of a ridge part of the first surface and the second surface. The coating film includes an AlTiN film including Ti, Al and N. A first Al ratio and a second Al ratio are 0.7 or more. The first Al ratio is Al/(Al+Ti) at a point located 0.1 mm away from the cutting edge, and the second Al ratio is Al/(Al+Ti) at a point located 0.2 mm away from the cutting edge in the first surface. The second Al ratio is larger than the first Al ratio.

Coated tool

A coated tool includes a base and a coating layer on the base. The coating layer includes a first layer including AlOparticles, and a second layer on the first layer. The second layer includes, sequentially from the base, a first film, a second film in contact with the first film, and a third film in contact with the second film. The first to third films individually include Ti. The first film, the second film and the third film individually include at least one kind selected from C and N. The coated tool satisfies a relationship of a first N content>a third N content>a second N content, in which the first N content is an N content in the first film, the second N content is an N content in the second film, and the third N content is an N content in the third film.

A coated tool in a non-limiting embodiment of the present disclosure includes a base and a coating film located on the base. The coated tool includes a first surface, a second surface adjacent to the first surface, and a cutting edge located on at least a part of a ridge part of the first surface and the second surface. The coating film includes an AlTiN film. The coating film has a first compressive stress σin a first direction which is parallel to a surface of the base and intersects with the cutting edge at an angle of 90°, and a second compressive stress σin a second direction which intersects with the first direction at an angle of 90°. The first compressive stress σis different from the second compressive stress σ

A cutting tool in an embodiment includes a base member composed of cemented carbide and a coating layer located on a surface of the base member. The coating layer includes a first layer which is in contact with the base member and contains Ti(CN) (0&#x2264;x&#x2264;1). A KAM average value of WC particles in a region extending to a depth of 5 &#x3bc;m from the surface of the base member is 1&#xb0; or less, which is measured by electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) method using a scanning electron microscope with an electron backscatter diffraction imaging system.

A coated tool may include a substrate and a coating layer located on a surface of the substrate. The coating layer includes: a first titanium carbonitride layer located on the substrate; a second titanium carbonitride layer located on the first titanium carbonitride layer; and an aluminum oxide layer located on the second titanium carbonitride layer. The first titanium carbonitride layer includes a plurality of first protrusions protruding toward a side of the aluminum oxide layer. The second titanium carbonitride layer includes a plurality of second protrusions protruding toward a side of the aluminum oxide layer. A number of second protrusions is greater than that of the first protrusions.

In an aspect of the disclosure, a cutting tool includes a base member and a coating layer located on a surface of the base member. The coating layer includes a lower layer, an upper layer, and an intermediate layer located between the lower layer and the upper layer. The intermediate layer includes a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer. The first layer contains TiCNO(0&#x2264;x1&#x3c;1, 0&#x2264;y1&#x3c;1, 0&#x3c;z1&#x3c;1, and x1+y1+z1=1). The second layer contains TiCNO(0&#x2264;x2&#x3c;1, 0&#x2264;y2&#x3c;1, 0&#x3c;z2&#x3c;1, and x2+y2+z2=1). The third layer is located between the first layer and the second layer, and contains TiCNO(0&#x2264;x3&#x3c;1, 0&#x2264;y3&#x3c;1, 0&#x2264;z3&#x3c;1, and x3+y3+z3=1). Here, z1&#x3e;z3 and z2&#x3e;z3.

Cutting tool

A cutting tool comprises a base including a hard alloy and a coating layer located on a surface of the base, wherein the coating layer comprises at least one TiCN layer, an AlOlayer and an outermost layer which are laminated in order from a side of the base, and a content of Cl at a thickness-center position of the TiCN layer is higher than a content of Cl at a thickness-center position of the outermost layer and the content of Cl at the thickness-center position of the outermost layer is higher than a content of Cl at a thickness-center position of the AlOlayer in a glow-discharge emission spectrometry (GDS analysis).

A cutting tool includes: a base including cemented carbide containing Cr; and a coating layer including a Ti-based layer including at least a layer of Ti(CNO) (0&#x2264;x1&#x2264;1, 0&#x2264;y1&#x2264;1, 0&#x2264;z1&#x2264;1, x1+y1+z1=1), an AlOlayer, and an outermost layer of Ti(CNO) (0&#x2264;x3&#x2264;1, 0&#x2264;y3&#x2264;1, 0&#x2264;z3&#x2264;1, x3+y3+z3=1), and a content of Cr contained at a first Ti-based layer of the Ti-based layer is lower than a content of Cr contained in the base, and higher than a content of Cr contained at the AlOlayer, and a content of Cr contained at the outermost layer is higher than the content of Cr contained at the AlOlayer in a glow-discharge emission spectrometry.
