A vehicle external airbag device for a vehicle includes a vehicle external airbag which is deployable rearward of the vehicle from between a nose in the vehicle and a front glass of a cabin of the vehicle and over the front glass with a high-pressure gas of an inflator. The vehicle external airbag includes: a central bag deploying in a vehicle width direction; a right bag joined to a right side of the central bag and deploying to extend rearward of the central bag to overlap a front pillar on a right side of the front glass; and a left bag joined to a left side of the central bag and deploying to extend rearward of the central bag to overlap a front pillar on a left side of the front glass. The high-pressure gas is preferentially supplied to the central bag rather than the right and left bags.

Vehicle external airbag device for vehicle

A contact detection apparatus includes a bumper beam, an absorber, a contact detection sensor, a tube holder, and a cover. The absorber is disposed in front of and adjacent to the bumper beam. The contact detection sensor includes a pressure tube and outputs a signal in accordance with a change in pressure of the pressure tube. The tube holder is a part of a front end of the absorber and has a groove holding the pressure tube therein. The cover is attached to a front end of the tube holder and includes a body covering a front face of the tube holder and a pressing member disposed in front of the pressure tube. An upper end of a rear face of the pressing member is disposed at a more backward position than a lower rear end of the pressing member.

Contact detection apparatus for vehicle

A contact detection apparatus includes a bumper beam, an absorber, a contact detection sensor, a tube holder, a cover, and first and second protrusions. A pressure tube is held in a groove of the tube holder. The cover is attached to a front end of the tube holder. A pressing member of the cover is disposed inside an opening groove of the groove and in front of the pressure tube. The pressure tube includes first and second protrusions on its outer periphery. The first protrusion projects in a frontward direction, faces the pressing member in frontward and backward directions, and has a pair of upper and lower surfaces inclining in respective directions to come closer to each other as the upper and lower surfaces extend in the frontward direction as seen in a vehicle width direction. The second protrusion is disposed above the first protrusion in an upward direction.

An airbag device includes an airbag configured to deploy in front of a front pillar of a vehicle; an inflator configured to supply expansion gas to expand the airbag; and a gas tube provided in the airbag and configured to supply the expansion gas from the inflator. The front pillar includes a storage formed inside the front pillar in a vehicle compartment and configured to store at least the airbag, and a partition configured to separate between an inside and an outside of the vehicle component. A partition hole is open in the partition. Before the expansion gas is supplied from the inflator, part of the airbag and an injection port configured to inject the expansion gas from the gas tube are disposed in front of or in the partition hole, and the injection port is disposed facing the outside of the vehicle compartment.
