The scheduling flexibility of CSI reference signals enables time and frequency synchronization using multiple non-zero CSI-RSs transmitted in the same subframe, or using CSI-RSs transmitted in the same subframe with other synchronization signals. Also, multiple synchronization signals may be scheduled in the same subframe to enable fine time and frequency synchronization without cell-specific reference signals.

A method and apparatus are disclosed for configured grant uplink control information (UCI) mapping rules. In one embodiment, a network node is configured to transmit downlink control information for a configured grant physical uplink shared channel, CG-PUSCH; and receive configured grant uplink control information, CG-UCI, on the CG-PUSCH, the CG-UCI being mapped to the CG-PUSCH based at least in part on a presence of at least one Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest-acknowledgement, HARQ-ACK. Embodiments include methods for a master node (MN) configured to provide a master cell group (MCG) in dual connectivity (DC) with a user equipment (UE) together with a secondary node (SN) configured to provide a secondary cell group (SCG). Such methods include determining one or more restriction parameters to control selection of the UE's SCG configuration by the SN, such that the UE's minimum required processing time, T_SCG, of SN messages scheduling UE uplink (UL) SCG transmissions is smaller than a maximum value derived from the one or more restriction parameters. Such methods include sending, to the SN, at least portion of the determined restriction parameters. Other embodiments include complementary methods for an SN, as well as network nodes configured to perform such methods.

Embodiments of systems and methods for operating wireless communication devices (e.g., User Equipments (UEs)) as initiating and responding devices in a Frame-Based Equipment (FBE) New Radio (NR) Unlicensed (NR-U) network are disclosed. The proposed methods allow operating the NR-U network as an FBE system in a flexible manner that supports a wide range of deployments not limited to the UE operating as a responding device. Operation of wireless communication devices in unlicensed spectrum for frame-based equipment (FBE) networks

Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for energy detection in unlicensed spectrum. In one embodiment, a method implemented in a radio node includes determining a maximum channel occupancy time (MCOT) value; and listen-before-talk (LBT) parameter settings, the MCOT value and/or the LBT parameter settings for one or more LBT parameters depending on an energy detection (ED) threshold value used to access a channel in an unlicensed spectrum; and performing a LBT procedure to gain access to the channel and a transmission on the channel according to the LBT parameter settings and the MCOT value. In one embodiment, a method in a network node includes configuring a wireless device with a MCOT value and LBT parameter settings, the MCOT value and/or LBT parameter settings depending on an ED threshold value used at the wireless device to access the channel.

Flexible energy detection in unlicensed spectrum

There is disclosed a method of operating a user equipment in a radio access network, the user equipment being configured with a transmission resource pool. The transmission resource pool includes resources for transmission of response control signaling by the user equipment. The method includes transmitting response control signaling utilising a resource structure, the resource structure being selected from the transmission resource pool based on a signaling characteristic of characterising signaling, the resource structure further being selected based on selection control information included in a received selection control message. According to some embodiments, a method in a wireless device comprises: receiving a control channel (e.g., physical downlink control channel (PDCCH)) that includes control information that indicates a set of time and frequency resources allocated for the wireless device to receive a data transmission; determining that the set of time and frequency resources allocated for data transmission overlaps with a control resource region (e.g., control resource set (CORESET)); and receiving the data transmission in the set of time and frequency resources allocated for data transmission. Systems and methods are disclosed herein for transitioning between different scheduling delay assumptions. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device comprises monitoring, during a first slot, for a downlink control channel comprising downlink control information that schedules a transmission for the wireless device with an assumption of a first scheduling delay that is equal to or exceeds a first value.
