Disclosed herein is an isolated strain ofLAM1345, which is deposited at Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen and Zellkulturen GmbH under an accession number DSM 33510. Also disclosed herein are a composition including the isolated strain ofLAM1345 for reducing trimethylamine (TMA) and/or trimethylamine-n-oxide (TMAO) levels, and use of the isolated strain ofLAM1345 for treating a disease associated with at least an elevated one of TMA and TMAO levels in a subject.

LAM1345 isolate, composition including the same and use thereof

The invention provides primers designed on base of the difference of sequences among staphylococcal enterotoxin subtypes, i.e., C, Cand C. The invention also provides a PCR method for detecting subtypes of staphylococcal enterotoxin type C by using the above-mentioned primers. The invention relates also to DNA probes useful for the identification of subtypes C, Cand Cof staphylococcal enterotoxin type C in various food and clinical samples. The primers of the invention comprises following sequences:

The invention provides a set of two PCR primers designed based on a DNA sequence of a gene encoding malic acid dehydrogenase and a specific DNA of,. The invention provides also a DNA probe specific for the above-mentioned PCR primers. Finally, a PCR method using above-mentioned primers is provided for the rapid and specific detection of,in food and clinical specimens such as human fecal specimens. Said PCR method comprises further a Southern hybridization assay for detecting PCR products. The whole process could be shortened from 5-7 days for BAM method to 1-2 days.
