A system and method for an antenna including two or more radiation elements on a side of a substrate; a ground plane on an opposite side of the substrate; and a feeding network including a plurality of branch feeding elements. Each of the radiation elements has one or more feeding ports such that each of the plurality of branch feeding element is connected to a feeding port of a respective one of the radiation elements.

Antenna for use in electronic communication systems

An aperture coupled, single fed, microstrip line feed for a circularly polarized patch antenna is provided that can transmit transmissions with a low profile, wide impedance, and axial ratio bandwidths. The circularly polarized patch antenna includes a double sided printed circuit board with a non-linear slots etched into a ground plane of one side of the printed circuit board, with a printed microstrip line printed on the opposite side of the printed circuit board. The microstrip line can be hook shaped and intersect each of the slots. The non linear slots can be radially arranged around a locus or area on the circuit board. A metal patch can placed above the ground plane and electromagnetic waves emanating from the microstrip line can couple to the patch through the non-linear strips and excite the patch such that it radiates an electromagnetic transmission

Aperture-coupled microstrip-line feed for circularly polarized patch antenna

A dual polarized high gain and wideband complementary antenna is presented herein. A dual polarized antenna can include a ground plane, a folded dipole portion electrically coupled to the ground plane, a shorted patch antenna portion including an open end that is electrically coupled to the folded dipole portion, and a metal plate located at a bottom portion of the dual polarized antenna. In one example, the folded dipole portion can include four folded dipoles. Further, the open end of the shorted patch antenna portion can be electrically coupled to the folded dipole portion using the metal plate. Further, the dual polarized antenna can include two ports&#x2014;each port including a pair of feeding sources, and each feeding source configured to generate an electric dipole and a magnetic dipole. In another example, magnitudes of the electric dipoles can be equivalent, and magnitudes of the magnetic dipoles can be equivalent.

Described herein are shorted bowtie patch antennas. The shorted bowtie patch antenna includes parasitic shorted patches. Signals are received by the shorted bowtie patch antenna. The received signals are propagated to a receiver. Signals sent from a transmitter are transmitted by the shorted bowtie patch antenna. Current is induced in the parasitic shorted patches during receiving and transmitting of signals.

An antenna is disclosed as including at least one dipole connected with at least one shorted patch antenna, and at least two feeding sources.

High gain and wideband complementary antenna

There is described a patch antenna with a meandering strip feed. The antenna comprises a patch spaced from a ground plane, with the patch being substantially parallel with said ground plane, and a feed probe located between the patch and the ground plane. The feed probe comprises at least two portions parallel to the patch but spaced by different distances from the patch.
