An ostomy appliance for attachment to a stoma, the ostomy appliance comprising: an adhesive wafer () defining a passage for receiving a stoma of a user, the adhesive wafer comprising a backing layer and a skin facing adhesive layer; and a collecting bag () which in use is secured to the adhesive wafer; wherein the adhesive wafer in a first adhesive zone has a first set of properties and in a second adhesive zone () has a second set of properties, the first zone defining three or more radially extending zones, wherein the second zone defines one or more interconnecting parts (), each of which interconnects at least two of the radially extending zones ().

A body waste collecting device includes a collecting pouch and an adhesive wafer for attachment to the body. The adhesive wafer includes a backing layer, a first adhesive and a second adhesive. The second adhesive includes a polar plasticizing oil or a combination of polar plasticizing oils in the content of above 10% (w/w) of the second adhesive, and at least one polar polyethylene copolymer, where the content of the polyethylene copolymer is 10-50% (w/w) of the second adhesive, and the polyethylene copolymer has a melt flow index below 2 g/10 min (190&#xb0; C./21.1N).

The present invention discloses an ostomy device comprising an adhesive wafer, wherein said adhesive wafer comprises means for preventing deformation and tearing when the adhesive wafer is removed from the skin. In particular, the present invention relates to adhesive wafers formed of soft adhesives.

A body waste collecting device comprising an adhesive composite that fastens a collecting bag to the skin is disclosed. The adhesive composite is highly moisture resistant while still being water absorbing. The adhesive composite comprises at least three layers, a backing layer, a moisture absorbing layer and a thin layer of vapor permeable, low-absorbing adhesive layer.

A wafer adapted for use with an ostomy appliance includes a backing layer, an adhesive layer applied to the backing layer and providing an adhesive surface, and a liner system disposed over an entirety of the adhesive surface. The adhesive surface includes a mid-section. The liner system includes a first side liner placed on a first lateral side of the mid-section of the adhesive surface, a second side liner placed on a second lateral side of the mid-section of the adhesive surface, and a third middle liner having folded edge portions and covering the mid-section of the adhesive surface.

A layered adhesive construct includes a backing layer and a layer of a pressure sensitive, hot melt processable adhesive composition. The adhesive composition includes a polar plasticizing oil or a combination of polar plasticizing oils in a content above 10% (w/w), and 10-50% (w/w) of a polar polyethylene copolymer. The polyethylene copolymer has a melt flow index below 2 g/10 min (190&#xb0; C./21.1N), and the polar plasticizing oil is a liquid rosin derivative, animal oils and derivatives, esters, ethers, glycols, poly propylene oxide, or alpha-butoxy-polyoxypropylene.

The present invention relates to a pressure sensitive, hot melt processable adhesive composition comprising a polar plasticizing oil, a polar polyethylene copolymer and polyisobutylene and a layered adhesive construction and a medical device comprising the adhesive composition according to the invention.

An ostomy appliance for attachment to the stoma body comprising a soft adhesive wafer () having a tensile strength at 20% strain of less than 0.75N/4 mm and a collecting pouch attachable to an adhesive wafer, the wafer comprises a backing layer and a skin-facing adhesive layer, wherein the adhesive skin-facing surface of the wafer is provided with at least two release liners () each covering at least a part of the adhesive surface and together covering the entire adhesive surface.
