Provided are acoustic articles, and related methods, that include a porous layer and heterogeneous filler received in the porous layer. The heterogeneous filler can include clay, diatomaceous earth, graphite, glass bubbles, polymeric filler, non-layered silicate, plant-based filler, or a combination thereof, and can have a median particle size of from 1 micrometer to 1000 micrometers and a specific surface area of from 0.1 m/g to 800 m/g. The acoustic article can have an overall flow resistance of from 100 MKS Rayls to 8000 MKS Rayls. The acoustic articles can serve as acoustic absorbers, vibration dampers, and/or acoustic and thermal insulators.

Disclosed herein are non-aqueous compositions including: a flowable Part A including at least one resin and Reactant A; and a flowable Part B including at least one resin and Reactant B; wherein at least one of flowable Part A and flowable Part B further includes a free radically polymerizable resin; wherein at least one of flowable Part A and flowable Part B further includes a free radical initiator system; wherein flowable Part A and flowable Part B are capable of being mixed to provide a flowable mixed composition; wherein when flowable Part A and flowable Part B are mixed, Reactant A and Reactant B are capable of interacting to cause a non-free radical reaction within a first staging time to provide a first staged stable consistency for the mixed composition; wherein Reactant A comprises an acid and Reactant B comprises a base, and upon mixing flowable Part A and flowable Part B, the Reactant A acid is capable of reacting with the Reactant B base in an ionic acid-base reaction; and wherein the mixed composition having the first staged stable consistency is capable of forming a hardened dental composition upon initiation of free radical polymerization.

Further, a method of determining a minimum temperature of a composition is provided including providing a composition including polymeric composite particles disposed in a matrix, heating the composition, releasing at least a portion of the fragrance as a vapor from the porous polymeric core of the polymeric composite particles at or above the minimum temperature, and detecting at least a portion of the fragrance vapor in a location outside of the matrix.

Methods of making the articles are provided that include providing porous polymeric particles, providing a fibrous substrate, and binding the porous polymeric particles to the fibrous substrate. Curable compositions are provided including a curable system that requires a thermally generated amine to cause curing of the system, and a self-assembled particle distributed in the curable system. The curable system contains at least one reactive moiety and the self-assembled particle comprises a reactive amine ionically bound to a chromonic network. A multilayer article is also provided, including a substrate, a chromonic amine layer disposed on the substrate, and a curable layer disposed on the chromonic amine layer. Methods of making a cured composition and of adhering two substrates together are further provided.

The present disclosure provides a curable, one-part epoxy/thiol resin composition. The composition comprises an epoxy/thiol resin mixture including: an epoxy resin component including an epoxy resin having at least two epoxide groups per molecule, a thiol component including a polythiol compound having at least two primary thiol groups, and a nitrogen-containing catalyst for the epoxy resin. The epoxy/thiol resin mixture further includes metal nanoparticles (e.g., silver nanoparticles, copper nanoparticles, or both), dispersed in the epoxy/thiol resin mixture. The present disclosure provides a method of curing a curable, one-part epoxy/thiol resin composition, including providing a curable, one-part epoxy/thiol resin composition and heating the composition to a temperature of at least 50&#xb0; C.

Porous articles are provided that include a fibrous porous matrix and porous polymeric particles. The porous polymeric particles are distributed throughout the fibrous porous polymeric matrix. The porous article can be used to prepare a separation device or a system that includes the separation device. The porous articles can be used for the separation of a target material such as a microorganism (i.e., cellular analyte) from a sample.

Composite particles are provided that can be used to cure epoxy resins. More particularly, the composite particles have a porous polymeric core particle, a curing agent and/or a curing catalyst for an epoxy resin positioned within the porous polymeric core particle, and a fluoropolymer-containing coating layer around the porous polymeric core particle. Additionally, curable compositions are provided that are mixtures containing an epoxy resin and the composite particles. The epoxy resin typically does not react until the curable composition is heated causing the release of the curing agent and/or curing catalyst from the composite particle. Further, cured compositions formed from the curable composition are provided.

Medical dressings and methods of using same. The medical dressing can include a fluid management article. The fluid management article can include a fibrous substrate and porous polymeric particles. At least 50% of the porous polymeric particles are bound to the fibrous substrate. Methods of using the medical dressings can include applying the medical dressing to the target site, such that the fluid management article is in fluid communication with the target site.

Polymeric composite particles are provided that can be used for the storage and delivery of various biologically active agent. The polymeric composite particles contain a porous polymeric core and a coating layer around the porous polymeric core. The porous polymeric composite particles typically further include a biologically active agent positioned within the porous polymeric core but not covalently bonded to the porous polymeric core. The biologically active agent can be released from the polymeric composite particle by diffusing out of the porous polymeric core through the coating layer.

Polymeric particles are provided that have pores (i.e., free volume or voids). The polymeric particles can be used to store or deliver active agents that are adsorbed in the pores of the polymeric particles. In many embodiments, the active agents are hydrophobic.
