A method and system of determining a parked location of a vehicle, the method including: establishing a short-range wireless communication (SRWC) connection with the vehicle using a personal SRWC device, wherein the SRWC connection operates according to a first protocol; carrying out a SRWC service that is associated with the SRWC; detecting termination of the SRWC service independently of a termination of the SRWC connection; in response to the detection of the termination of the SRWC service, obtaining a location of the personal SRWC device; and storing the location of the personal SRWC device as a parked location of the vehicle.

A method for determining vehicle location via a mobile computing device includes: determining, by an application of the mobile computing device, a first signal strength corresponding to a communications component of a vehicle and a first mobile device location corresponding to the first signal strength; detecting, by the application, a signal drop event corresponding to a loss of the signal corresponding to the communications component of the vehicle; determining, by the application, in response to detecting the signal drop event, the first mobile device location corresponding to the first signal strength as the vehicle location based on the first mobile device location being the most recent location at which a recorded signal strength was at a highest level; and providing, by the application, a notification indicating the vehicle location to a user of the mobile device.

An application is launched in response to identifying a specific user in the vehicle. Upon launching the application, a historical comfort setting profile is automatically downloaded for the user. The historical profile includes individual comfort setting records. The historical profile is updated with comfort setting record(s) corresponding to each instance of an automatic climate control setting, a manual climate control setting, or an alternate climate control setting while the specific user is in the vehicle. An in-vehicle setting is dynamically predicted within respective predetermined time increments while the specific user is in the vehicle or in response to a user request. The predicted in-vehicle setting is dependent upon geographic location data points and a set of climate control related settings retrieved from the individual comfort setting records. A most recently predicted in-vehicle setting is caused to be displayed on a vehicle display while the specific user is in the vehicle.

A system and method of regulating access to a short-range wireless communications network using an ultrasonic audible signal includes: receiving a handheld wireless device identifier at a short-range wireless network from a handheld wireless device that is within a communication range of the short-range wireless network; determining that the handheld wireless device is authorized to access the short-range wireless network using the handheld wireless device identifier; and broadcasting an audio signal at an ultrasonic frequency through an audio system, wherein the audio signal includes information used by the handheld wireless device for authentication to the short-range wireless communications network in response.

An example of a vehicle tire gauge system includes a tire pressure monitoring system in a vehicle. A transceiver in the vehicle is for transmitting a tire pressure sensed by the tire pressure monitoring system to a paired wearable device. A tire pressure table is stored in a model of an application having a view on the wearable device. A haptic feedback generator in the wearable device is responsive to the tire pressure reaching a first value, wherein the first value is contained in the tire pressure table.

Upon launching the application, a historical calling profile is automatically downloaded for the user. The historical calling profile includes individual vehicle call records. A probability of a telephone number being chosen for an outgoing call, within time increments while the user is in the vehicle or in response to a request, is dynamically determined. A most recently generated list of telephone numbers sorted by the probability is caused to be displayed on a vehicle display while the user is in the vehicle.

Implementations of the present invention contemplate utilizing the communicative connections between a telematics service provider (TSP), a communication device, and a telematics unit in a vehicle to interactively provide information pertaining to various components of a vehicle. Implementations contemplate that an image capture device is communicatively connected to the telematics unit in a vehicle and an operations control center of the TSP. Image data pertaining to an image captured by the image capture device is analyzed and vehicle components included in the image are identified. Once vehicle components in the image have been identified, information pertaining to the identified components is presented as an overlay of the originally captured image.

A method of managing short-range wireless communications settings applied at a vehicle includes detecting a plurality of short-range wireless communications settings used by an existing vehicle; storing the plurality of short-range wireless communications settings with a subscriber identity; detecting that a person associated with the subscriber identity has begun using a new vehicle; uploading the plurality of short-range wireless communications settings from the existing vehicle to the new vehicle; and applying the plurality of short-range wireless communications settings associated with the subscriber identity to the new vehicle.
