A polyethylene comprising of ethylene derived units and 0.5 wt % to 10 wt % Cto Cα-olefin derived units may be synthesized using a mixed catalyst that comprises rac-dimethylsilylbis(tetrahydroindenyl)zirconium dichloride and a zirconium co-catalyst in a mole ratio of 50:50 to 90:10, and wherein the zirconium co-catalyst is a poor comonomer incorporator as compared to the rac-dimethylsilylbis(tetrahydroindenyl)zirconium dichloride catalyst. Such a polyethylene may have a density of 0.91 g/cmto 0.93 g/cm, an Ivalue of 0.5 g/10 min to 2 g/10 min, an Ivalue of 25 g/10 min to 75 g/10 min, an I/Iratio of 25 to 75, a molar reversed-co-monomer index (RCI,m) of 30 to 180, a phase angle equal or lower than 70° at complex modulus G* of 10,000 Pa, a Θof 1.5 radians to −1.5 radians, and a low density population of 50% and 70% by weight of the polyethylene.

The present invention provides a supported catalyst system comprising: a bridged group 4 metallocene compound, an iron compound, specifically a 2,6-bis(imino)pyridyl iron complex, a support material and an activator. The present invention further provides a process for polymerization of monomers (such as olefin monomers) comprising contacting one or more monomers with the above supported catalyst systems.

This invention relates to ethylene polymers obtained using a catalyst system comprising fluorided silica, alkylalumoxane activator and at least two metallocene catalyst compounds (a bridged monocyclopentadienyl group 4 transition metal compound and a biscyclopentadientyl group 4 transition metal compound), where the fluorided support has not been calcined at a temperature of 400&#xb0; C. or more, and is preferably produced using a wet mixing method, such as an aqueous method. The ethylene polymers have: 1) at least 50 mol % ethylene; 2) a reversed comonomer index, mol %, (RCI,m) of 85 or more; 3) a Comonomer Distribution Ratio-2 (CDR-2,m) of the percent comonomer at the z average molecular weight divided by the percent comonomer at the weight average molecular weight plus the number average molecular weight divided by 2 ([% comonomer at Mz]/[% comonomer at ((Mw+Mn)/2)] as determined by GPC of 2.3 or more; and 4) a density of 0.91 g/cc or more.

New metrics are disclosed for characterizing polyethylene copolymers which can be computed from the Cross-Fractionation Chromatography data of these polymers. These metrics are able to quantify the Broad Orthogonal Composition Distribution (BOCD) character of the polymers, and they can be used to discriminate polymers with an enhanced BOCD character from polymers that have the BOCD character to a lesser extent or from polymers that have the conventional molecular weight distribution and/or branching distribution.
