A heat-management material that includes a base fabric having an externally facing surface and an internally facing surface; and a plurality of multilayered multifunctional heat-management elements coupled to the externally facing surface of the base material wherein the heat-management material has weighted average thermal emittance of less than 0.8 (or 80%). The multilayered multifunctional heat-management elements include a low thermal emittance layer and a high solar absorptance layer.

Embodiments relate to an article of clothing that includes a base material with a moisture vapor transfer rate (MVTR) of at least 2000 g/m/24 h (JIS 1099 A1). The article of clothing may further include a foam-based spacer material coupled to the first side of the base material. The foam-based spacer material may be positioned between the base material and a wearer of the article of clothing when the article of clothing is worn. The foam-based spacer material may be an array of discrete elements coupled with the base material. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Embodiments herein relate generally to the field of footwear, and more particularly to components of performance footwear, such as midsoles, and in particular related to a high performance composite foam for a midsole, the composite foam comprising: a pelletized expanded thermoplastic elastomer; and a polyurethane (PU) matrix, wherein the pelletized expanded thermoplastic elastomer is mixed within the PU matrix. Midsoles made from a high performance composite foam and footwear including such midsoles. A method of making a high performance midsole is also provided.
