An apparatus includes a flexible frame, a coupling portion, and an insulating portion. The flexible frame is configured to support a thermal therapeutic member and is transitioned between a first configuration and a second configuration to place the therapeutic member in substantially continuous contact with a target portion of the body. The coupling portion is coupled to the flexible frame and is transitioned from a first configuration to a second configuration to retain the flexible frame in its second configuration. The insulating portion is transitioned from a first configuration to a second configuration to be coupled to the flexible frame. The insulating portion at least partially controls a transfer of thermal energy between the thermal therapeutic member and the target portion of the body.

Thermal eye compress systems and methods of use

A fruit squeezer for squeezing juice picks up, squeezes and discards the squeezed fruit with use of a single hand. The squeezer has a first handle and a second handle that are rotatably connected to each other. Each handle has a top portion and a bottom portion. A biasing spring biases the top and bottom portions apart. A U-shaped jaw is fixed to the bottom end of the second handle. A pressing plate jaw is pivotally mounted to the bottom end of the first handle. Squeezing the top ends of the handles toward each other against the force of a spring moves the jaws for squeezing the fruit. A screen operatively connected to the handles simultaneously rotates at a second pivot axis from a rest position to a screening position below the fruit for screening solids from the squeezed juice.

A dispensing device () is detachably mountable atop a plurality of valved containers () containing constituents under pressure which are dispensed upon actuation of the container valves (). The dispensing device () comprises a mixing chamber () for mixing together the constituents dispensed form the containers () to form a mixed product and for outputting the mixed product through plural outlet ports (), an applicator () having a plurality of tines () at least some of which are hollow, the hollow tines () being in fluid communication with respective outlet ports () of the mixing chamber () for dispensing from distal ends thereof the mixed product, and an actuator () for simultaneously actuating the container valves (). The mixing chamber () has an inlet port () for admitting the constituents dispensed from the containers () into the mixing chamber (), and an elongated tortuous flow path () having one end communicating with the inlet port () and another end communicating with the plural outlet ports ().

Applicator and dispensing device using same

A hinge rotates a cover pivotably connected to a device housing from a closed position to an open position. A shaft is connected to the cover. The shaft and cover have a common axis of rotation. A spring having a top end and a bottom end is affixed at its bottom end to the device housing. A line has a first end connected to the top end of the spring and a second end wound onto the shaft. When the cover is in the closed position, the spring is in an extended state. Upon release of the cover from the closed position, the spring force returns the spring toward a neutral state, thereby unwinding the line from the shaft and causing rotation of the cover to the open position.

A beverage brewing apparatus is disclosed which includes a housing having a base for supporting a carafe with a brewing basket and a body defining a water reservoir, a brewing assembly including a heating chamber communicating with the water reservoir and a heating element in thermal contact with said heating chamber, and a dispensing assembly including a valve member supported adjacent an outlet port of the heating chamber, a thermally responsive actuating member disposed within the heating chamber and connected to the valve member for moving the valve member from a closed position to an open position when water contained within the heating chamber is heated to a predetermined temperature.

An automatic coffee brewing device comprising a structure having a cavity therein providing a reservoir for receiving water, a water heating and pumping means positioned under the reservoir, and a connecting means for delivering water from the reservoir to the heating and pumping means. A cover member is received over and enclosing a top opening of the structure, and may include or have a separate water dispensing means with said bottom and top walls enclosing a chamber therein, said dispensing means also having a first opening over the reservoir of the structure for removably receiving therethrough the top end of the riser tube of the pump, a second opening for providing a water dispensing spout, and a third opening over the reservoir of the structure for venting and returning heated fluid to the reservoir.

Automatic coffee brewing device

In an automatic coffee brewing machine of the type having container means for receiving cold water at the start of a brewing operation and dispensing hot water at the end of the brewing operation, a control means comprising heating means activated to its closed position when sensing a temperature below a predetermined first value resulting when said container means receives cold water at the start of a brewing operation and being activated to its open position when it senses a temperature above a predetermined second value higher than said first value, electrical connecting means joining said switch means with said heating means, and a heating element for heating said switch means when the switch means is in its open position, so that when said switch is in its closed position at the start of a brewing operation the heating means is fully energized to heat the container means and the water contained therein until said switch means is activated to its open position when the temperature of the container exceeds said second value after which the energization of said heating element maintains the temperature sensed by said switch means at a level between said first and second values which prevents said switch means from being activated to its closed position and reheating the container before the start of a new brewing operation.
