A system including a server and a wireless RF access node connected to a communication network is provided. The server provides a first publish-subscribe broker of one or more publish-subscribe brokers forming part of a publish-subscribe broker network. The server connects to the wireless RF access node. A first entity connects via the wireless RF access node to the first publish-subscribe broker using a unicast IP address and thereafter publishes data packets. A second entity connects to the publish-subscribe broker network via any of the one or more publish-subscribe brokers. The server provides packet distribution services via the first publish-subscribe broker for the first entity, the publish-subscribe broker network routes communications from the first entity to the second entity when the second entity is subscribed; and the data packets published by the first entity are routed through the publish-subscribe broker to which the second entity is connected.

Methods and systems of an all purpose broadband network with publish subscribe broker network

An example system includes a server communicatively connected to a cellular base transceiver station having an RF coverage area and configured for RF communication with a first entity that is a transceiver device in the RF coverage area, wherein the server comprises a first publish-subscribe broker that is part of a publish-subscribe broker network that comprises one or more publish-subscribe brokers, wherein a second entity connected to any of the one or more publish-subscribe brokers in the publish-subscribe broker network accepts communications from the transceiver device if the second entity subscribes to data packets published by the transceiver device, and wherein the data packets published by the transceiver device are routed through the publish-subscribe broker to which the second entity is connected.

Systems and methods for a publish-subscribe broker network that distributes data packets between authorized entities and includes one or more publish-subscribe brokers. Each publish-subscribe broker is reachable by an entity attempting to connect thereto via a transport network configured to transport IP packets. The publish-subscribe brokers are configured to check credentials of entities attempting to connect to the publish-subscribe broker network and ensure that first and second entities are authorized for publishing packets on the secured named channel or for receiving published packets via the secured named channel. Cipher keys are used by the first and second authorized entities to encrypt and decrypt messages distributed via the publish-subscribe broker network and the publish-subscribe brokers are configured to route encrypted messages as data packets on behalf of the first authorized entity to the second authorized entity using the secured named channel.

An example system includes a cellular base transceiver station having an RF coverage area and configured for RF communication with a first entity that is a transceiver device in the RF coverage area, wherein the cellular base transceiver station is communicatively connected to a server through a communication network, wherein the server comprises a first publish-subscribe broker that is part of a publish-subscribe broker network that comprises one or more publish-subscribe brokers, wherein a second entity connected to any of the one or more publish-subscribe brokers in the publish-subscribe broker network accepts communications from the transceiver device if the second entity subscribes to data packets published by the transceiver device, and wherein the data packets published by the transceiver device are routed through the publish-subscribe broker to which the second entity is connected.

A first optimization server including a first publish-subscribe broker is configured to connect to a first cellular base transceiver station, where the first cellular base transceiver station is configured to communicatively connect to entities, including a first entity, in an RF coverage area of the first cellular base transceiver station. A second optimization server includes a second publish-subscribe broker, where the first publish-subscribe broker and the second publish-subscribe broker are part of a publish-subscribe broker network that is operable to distribute published data packets between entities that are connected to a publish-subscribe broker of the publish-subscribe broker network, where the publish-subscribe broker network is configured to route data packets published by the first entity to a second entity via the first publish-subscribe broker and the second publish-subscribe broker if the second entity has subscribed to receive the data packets published by the first entity.

Methods and systems of an all purpose broadband network with publish-subscribe broker network

Systems and methods are described wherein sensor devices for gathering sensor data are in communication with a sensor processing application enabled to receive sensor data and to perform a function such as storing, processing, and redistributing sensor data or processed sensor data. A communication network to which the sensor devices are connected comprises a publish-subscribe broker network including a broker adapted to provide publish-subscribe broker services for entities including the sensor devices and the sensor processing application. A key management application distributes keys to entities that are authorized to send or receive on channels established within the broker network. An authorized subscriber entity connected to the broker network via a broker is enabled to receive data on a specific identified channel by subscribing to the channel and receive published data on the channel published by an authorized publisher entity. The broker network routes packets of sensor data, on behalf of an entity that is authorized to publish, to any sensor processing application which is an authorized subscriber to the sensor data.

Internet of things system with efficient and secure communications network

A wireless RF access node is connected to a communication network and is adapted to provide communication services to a plurality of mobile entities. A server is connected to the communication network, wherein the server comprises a first publish-subscribe broker communications facility as part of a publish-subscribe broker network including one or more publish-subscribe broker communications facilities. Systems and methods are described for a publish-subscribe broker overlay network comprising brokers, wherein each broker executes on a host computer embedded within a network. Each broker may be reachable by an entity for the purpose of making a connection via a transport network that is enabled to transport IP packets in one or more networks in which the host computers are embedded, such that the publish-subscribe broker network overlays the transport network Each broker is enabled to provide routing and security functions to connecting endpoints, which may include an ability to route packets of data, on behalf of an endpoint that is authorized to publish its data on a specific channel of the publish-subscribe broker network, to those endpoints that are connected to the publish-subscribe broker network and are authorized to subscribe to the specific channel and receive the published data.

In embodiments of the present disclosure improved capabilities are described for a system having a host computer connected to a communication network, wherein the communication network includes a publish-subscribe broker network adapted to provide publish-subscribe broker services to a sensor device in RF communication with a wireless RF access node, wherein the wireless RF access node is connected to the communication network and enables the sensor device to connect to the publish-subscribe broker network. The publish-subscribe broker network is adapted to route packets of sensor data, on behalf of the sensor device that publishes the sensor data, to a sensor-processing application, wherein the sensor processing application subscribes to the sensor data, and wherein the sensor processing application generates application data that is at least in part sensor data from the sensor device. The publish-subscribe broker network is adapted to route packets of application data, on behalf of the sensor processing application that publishes the application data, to a communicating entity that is connected to the communication network if the communicating entity subscribes to the application data.

Multiple-use wireless network

In embodiments of the present disclosure, systems and methods implementing active-hot standby redundancy in server architectures are described. In an active-hot standby redundancy architecture, two or more matching service instances are installed in a network, on the same or different host computers. A standby service instance may maintain state information for every session maintained at an active service instance that it is poised to replace using a publish-subscribe communications network. When a failure occurs in the active instance, the standby instance may promote itself to active, and assume all aspects of the service identity and role of the active service instance it is replacing such that service to user devices continues without interruption.

Active hot standby redundancy for broadband wireless network

Improved capabilities are described for increasing the bandwidth in a wireless communication network, such as where host computers provide publish-subscribe broker services to a sensor device and a communicating entity. A queuing service application may provide service packet continuity when the sensor device or the communicating entity moves between two wireless RF access nodes (in the same or different wireless networks). The publish-subscribe broker network is adapted to route packets of sensor data, on behalf of the sensor device that publishes the sensor data, to a sensor-processing application, wherein the sensor-processing application subscribes to the sensor data, and wherein the sensor-processing application generates application data that is at least in part sensor data from the sensor device. The publish-subscribe broker network is adapted to route packets of the application data, on behalf of the sensor-processing application that publishes the application data, to the communicating entity if the communicating entity subscribes to the application data. The queuing service application connects to the publish/subscribe broker network and subscribes to receive packets of the application data matching the packets being sent to the communicating entity, wherein the queuing service application makes available the matching application data packets to replace application data packets that the communicating entity did not receive during a time when the sensor device or the communicating entity transitions between connections with the two wireless RF access nodes.

Providing handover capability to distributed sensor applications across wireless networks

The present disclosure is related to a large-scale broadband LTE wireless network capable of providing a very high wireless data capacity, wherein one aspect of the system utilizes a base station optimization server, wherein the base station optimization server comprises a publish-subscribe broker communications facility to which a mobile transceiver device is connected via a corresponding redirected bearer. A usage data reporting facility of the base station optimization server and the publish-subscribe broker communications facility are adapted to collect and report billing usage data for the mobile transceiver device for all data sent by the mobile transceiver device on paths that do not include a packet gateway (PGW) element, where the billing usage data is collected in the LTE network via paths that include the redirected bearer at the cellular LTE base transceiver station.

Systems and methods for reporting mobile transceiver device communications in an LTE network

In a method and system for opportunistic delivery of less-than-best-effort application data, a WIN network identified the elements of the wireless network servicing a specified mobile client. One or more elements of the wireless network servicing the specified mobile client monitor the connection state of a mobile client and notify the WIN network of connection state changes so that a chatty application running on an external application server may be notified by the WIN network to deliver packet data when the specified mobile client is connected to the network for some other purpose or when unused network resources are available. In this way, network resource overload caused by chatty applications is reduced.
