Method of treating a subterranean formation comprising providing a consolidation fluid, introducing the resin consolidation fluid into a subterranean formation comprising unconsolidated particulates; and, curing the resin to at least partially consolidate the unconsolidated particulates. The consolidation fluid comprises a resin in emulsified form with an aqueous external phase and an organic internal phase wherein the emulsified resin does not comprise a hardening agent and an aqueous base fluid that further comprises a hardening agent. The consolidation fluid may further comprise an emulsifying agent.

Consolidating agent emulsions and associated methods

Systems and methods for improved propped fracture geometry for high permeability reservoirs are provided. In one embodiment, a method of determining a pad volume and proppant volume for fracturing a subterranean formation is provided comprising selecting a proppant volume for placement in a fracture to be created in a subterranean formation; determining a desired fracture geometry for the fracture; calculating a pad volume sufficient to create the desired fracture geometry in the subterranean formation at a lower fluid efficiency value; calculating a fracture length that would result from injecting the pad volume into the subterranean formation at an upper fluid efficiency value; calculating a fracture width that corresponds to the calculated fracture length; and calculating a proppant volume sufficient to fill a fracture having the calculated length and width.

System and method for improved propped fracture geometry for high permeability reservoirs

Methods are provided that include a method comprising providing a consolidating agent emulsion composition comprising an aqueous fluid, an emulsifying agent, and a consolidating agent; and introducing the consolidating agent emulsion composition into at least a portion of a subterranean formation. In some embodiments, the consolidating agent emulsion composition may be introduced into at least a portion of a propped fracture that comprises proppant particulates and allowed to at least partially consolidate at least a portion of the propped fracture. In some embodiments, the consolidating agent emulsion composition comprises a resin composition. Additional methods are also provided.

A method of treating a subterranean formation or of stabilizing a surface within a subterranean fracture comprising: providing a treatment fluid comprising lightweight proppant at least partially coated with an adhesive substance; introducing the treatment fluid into a portion of a subterranean formation; depositing at least a portion of the lightweight proppant in the portion of the subterranean formation; allowing at least a portion of the lightweight proppant in the subterranean formation to form a particulate pack; and, allowing at least a portion of the adhesive substance to migrate from the lightweight particulates to a surface within the portion of the subterranean formation.
