An improved foundation composition for application to the skin is disclosed. The composition is characterized by the inclusion of a light scattering agent having a spherical shape and a diameter of up to 30 microns. This component permits the non-inclusion of a colorant. The absence of a colorant allows the foundation composition to be invisible on the skin.

Invisible foundation composition

A cosmetic powder bar composition is disclosed. The composition, substantially oil free, comprises calcium sulfate dihydrate, mica or mica-containing composite material and polyethylene. A unique process for making this composition is also set forth. In this process a powder phase composition and a liquid phase composition are separately prepared. The two compositions are contacted to form a slurry. The slurry is placed in molds and heated to remove free water therefrom.

Cosmetic powder bar composition and process for making same

A mascara composition is disclosed. The composition comprises a cosmetically acceptable hydrophobic pigment, a film-forming resin, a water dispersible thickening agent, a humectant and water. The treatment to make the pigment hydrophobic is preferably accomplished by treating the pigment or pigments with lecithin.

Mascara composition

A composition for use as a base in clear cosmetic sticks comprises water, lower alkyl ester of fatty acid, propylene glycol, sodium salt of fatty acid, polyoxypropylene ether of a long chain alcohol, polyoxyethylene ether of a long chain alcohol, and polyoxyethylene-glucose-fatty acid ester.
