Vibration damper apparatus

A vehicle suspension system includes an arm member whose outer end is connected to a wheel and whose inner end is connected to the vehicle body by way of front and rear rubber bushings at positions spaced from each other in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body so that the arm member can vertically rotate relative to the vehicle body. Each of the front and rear rubber bushings has an outer tubular member which is substantially cylindrical and extends in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body, an inner tubular member which is received in the outer tubular member substantially coaxially therewith, and a rubber member interposed between the inner and outer tubular member. One of the inner and outer tubular members is connected to the vehicle body and the other is connected to the suspension arm. The inner and outer tubular members of one of the front and rear rubber bushings is slidable relative to each other in the axial direction of the tubular members and those of the other rubber bushing are not slidable relative to each other in the axial direction of the tubular members.

Vehicle suspension system

A suspension system for a vehicle includes a suspension arm. The outer end portion of the suspension arm is connected to a wheel support for rotatably supporting a wheel. The inner end portion of the suspension arm is bifurcated and has first and second branch arms spaced from each other in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. Each of the inner end portions of the first and second branch arms is supported by a slide member so that the inner end portion is slidable relative to the vehicle body in the longitudinal direction of the same. A coil spring is provided for at least one of the first and second branch arms and urges forward the suspension arm. A stopper defines the foremost position of the suspension arm which is urged forward by said coil spring.

A suspension system for a vehicle comprises a wheel supporting structure provided for supporting a steerable wheel rotatably and composed of upper and lower support members, an upper suspension member extending from a body of the vehicle for connecting the upper support member with the body in such a manner that the upper support member is movable up and down in relation to the body, a lower suspension member extending from the body for connecting the lower support member with the body in such a manner that the lower support member is movable up and down in relation to the body, and an elastic joint structure provided for coupling the lower support member with the upper support member so that the lower support member is engaged with the upper support member only through the elastic joint structure and constituted to be relatively flexible in a vehicle longitudinal direction and relatively hard in a vehicle transverse direction.

Suspension systems for vehicles

A suspension including a swing arm extending in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle and swingably connected with a vehicle body at a joint portion through a connecting member. The suspension comprising a joint structure between the joint portion of the swing arm and the connecting member for allowing a swingable movement of the swing arm in both vertical and horizontal directions relative to the vehicle body and a damping member provided in the connecting member for absorbing a vibration of the swing arm in the longitudinal direction.

Vehicle suspension mechanism

The suspension system of the present invention comprises support means installed between a wheel and the vehicle body exerting suspension force which can be changed irrespective of relative displacement between the wheel and the vehicle body. According to low frequency components of a parameter which respresents changing condition of the relative displacement, the support means is controlled to exert a suspension force in such a way that the relative displacement can be suppressed. Such parameters include the relative displacement and the rate of the change thereof. According to the present invention, suspension characteristics can be maintained to maintain riding qualities and rolling and pitching properties in a preferable condition throughout all running conditions.

A mounting system for a vehicle engine including mounting units located at the opposite sides of the engine output shaft. The mounting unit includes a hydraulic chamber filled with hydraulic liquid. The hydraulic chamber of one unit is connected with that of the other unit through a conduit which may be provided with a variable orifice or a valve. The variable orifice or the valve is operated so that the fluid flow through the conduit is restricted or cut-off under a specific rolling frequency range.
