A projector modulates light emitted from a light source and projects the light, the projector including an image acquiring unit, a modulating unit, a light adjusting mechanism, and a light adjusting control unit. The image acquiring unit acquires an image from an image source. The modulating unit modulates the light emitted from the light sources, based on the image acquired by the image acquiring unit. The light adjustment mechanism reduces an amount of light incident on the modulating unit from the light source. The light adjustment control unit performs light adjustment control by the light adjustment mechanism, based on the image acquired by the image acquiring unit. The light adjustment control unit performs control to increase the amount of light incident of the modulating unit when the light adjustment mechanism maintains a predetermined light-adjusted state.

Projector and control method for projector

A projector which modulates light emitted from a light source and projects the light, the projector including: an image acquiring unit for acquiring an image from an image source; a modulating unit for modulating the light emitted from the light sources, based on the image acquired by the image acquiring unit; a light adjustment mechanism for reducing an amount of light incident on the modulating unit from the light source; and a light adjustment control unit for performing light adjustment control by the light adjustment mechanism, based on the image acquired by the image acquiring unit; wherein the light adjustment control unit stops execution of the light adjustment control when at least one of an operating state of the projector and a state of the image acquired by the image acquiring unit meets a predetermined condition.

To provide an image display device, such as a liquid crystal receiver or the like, that has a printer incorporated therein for printing a displayed image on the spot, upon switching-on of a television receiver, an image forming device is activated and images or the like are projected onto a display screen. Here, by appropriately operating an operation section or the like, a command requiring images being displayed on the display screen to be printed out, is inputted into the image forming device. As a result, the printing command signal is issued from the data processing section provided in the output section to the printer unit, together with an image file appropriately converted from video signals. The printer unit develops the input image file, prints the corresponding image, and outputs it.

Image display device

There is provided a rear projector capable of preventing entry of dust. A cabinet of the rear projector has a front side thereof formed with an opening. A screen panel slightly larger in size than the opening is attached to the front side of the cabinet such that the opening edge portion of the opening of the cabinet and the periphery of the screen panel are opposed to each other. The screen panel receives projection light projected from behind for image display, and thereby displays an image thereon. A projector unit is disposed within the cabinet, for projecting the projection light. A dust-proofing sealing member is disposed between the periphery of the screen panel and the opening edge portion, the screen panel is attached to the housing.

Rear projector

In order to provide a rear projector capable of facilitating position adjustment of an image displayed on a screen and optimizing dispersion of the aspect ratio of the projected image caused by tolerance of components by adjusting the position of the image, a support member () is provided with a lateral position adjuster () as a planar position adjusting mechanism attached on a support plate of an interior unit in an opposing manner, an inclination adjuster () as an inclination position adjusting mechanism vertically provided on the lateral position adjuster (), and a rotary position adjuster () as a rotary position adjusting mechanism attached to the inclination adjuster () slanted downward toward rear side.

A pair of openings () symmetrically disposed around an optical axis of the reflector () is formed on a contact surface of a light-transmissive plate () and the reflector () and a cooling channel () for introducing cooling air to a source lamp () through the pair of openings () and a first and a second cooling channel shutters () for shutting the cooling channel () when the case is detached from a projector () are provided on a case (). The source lamp () can be efficiently cooled, so that the life of the source lamp () can be lengthened. Even when a light-emitting tube of the source lamp () is exploded while using the projector (), the fragments of the light-emitting tube do not fall outside in exchanging the light source (), and cooling efficiency of the source lamp () is not impaired.

Light source and projector

A rear projector has a lower cabinet disposing an image generator and an upper cabinet for a screen body to be mounted, two woofer boxes being mounted on the front side of the lower cabinet and high-pitched sound speaker boxes being respectively mounted on the right and left lateral sides of the upper cabinet, so that, since the woofer box is disposed in the lower cabinet, vibration is not easily transferred to a screen body on the upper cabinet and a reflection mirror inside the upper cabinet, thus avoiding flicker of the image on the screen body even when great volume of sound is outputted by the woofer box.

Rear projector and producing method thereof

In order to provide a rear projector capable of facilitating position adjustment of an image displayed on a screen and optimizing dispersion of the aspect ratio of the projected image caused by tolerance of components by adjusting the position of the image, a support member ( ) is provided with a lateral position adjuster ( ) as a planar position adjusting mechanism attached on a support plate of an interior unit in an opposing manner, an inclination adjuster ( ) as an inclination position adjusting mechanism vertically provided on the lateral position adjuster ( ), and a rotary position adjuster ( ) as a rotary position adjusting mechanism attached to the inclination adjuster ( ) slanted downward toward rear side.

An intake opening ( L) is formed on a left lateral side ( ) of a lower cabinet ( ) and an exhaust opening ( R) is formed on a right lateral side ( ) in a rear projector ( ), where a cooling air introduced from the intake opening ( L) by a plurality of fans provided in the lower cabinet ( ) flows along a front side of a screen to cool the interior of the projector to be finally discharged from the exhaust opening ( R), so that the air after cooling the interior which is discharged by the exhaust opening ( R) is prevented from entering into the intake opening ( L), thereby always introducing fresh cooling air to cool the interior efficiently.

A rear projector ( ) has a closed space ( ) including an inside of an upper cabinet ( ) and an electric optical device ( ), where the electric optical device ( ), a sirocco fan ( ) located below the electric optical device ( ), a duct ( ) covering the upper side of the electric optical device ( ) and a heat sink ( ) attached to the upper cabinet ( ) are disposed and an upper cabinet cooling system ( ) that cools the interior of the closed space ( ) in a circulative manner is provided in the closed space ( ), thereby preventing invasion of duct etc. and providing high-quality image.

A centrifugal fan ( ) is provided around the light source of the projector and an exhaust duct ( ) is connected to the centrifugal fan with at least one of bent portion ( ) for bending exhaust stream from the centrifugal fan being formed on the exhaust duct. Since the centrifugal fan for exhausting air can be disposed at a position remote from the exhaust hole, the noise generated from the projector can be reduced even when the size of the cooling fan is increased.

Projector

To provide an image reading apparatus which is capable of easily and quickly specifying a frame of a transparency original for which image reading is desired from the transparency original having a plurality of frames and of image reading with high accuracy at the time of final reading of a specified image. The image reading apparatus comprises: a carrier member holding a film-shaped transparency original which has a plurality of frames; an illuminating means illuminating the transparency original; and an image reading means reading image data of the transparency original illuminated by the illuminating means, in which when the image data is read in previewing, the carrier member is moved by a carrier moving means, and when final image reading of the image data is effected, the carrier member is moved by moving a carrier frame having the carrier moving means. The image data which has been read is outputted to an image display device connected to the image reading apparatus.

Image reading apparatus

Provision is made of a carrier for holding a piece film cut every after several frames and a carrier for holding a long wound film contained in a cartridge and having a motor for frame-feeding. When the carrier is loaded, the carrier is driven at a high speed by a first stepping motor and is driven to a predetermined position, to optically detect whether the carrier is for holding the piece film or for holding the long wound film. When the carrier is for holding the piece film, the carrier is driven at a high speed by the first stepping motor and is prescanned. When the carrier is for holding the long wound film, the carrier is driven by a second stepping motor and is prescanned. In the main scanning, both of the carriers are driven by the second stepping motor at a low speed, so that image is read maintaining a high resolution.

Film scanner

In data projection device, a liquid crystal display panel which forms a data pattern, such as the date, as a translucent area, is positioned in the middle of an optical path located between an ambient light inlet and a photographic film. A data projection shutter which can work in conjunction with a photographic shutter, is positioned on the side of the film relative to a liquid crystal display panel. Manual projection optical path switching device is arranged in a data projection shutter and switches between the state in which the data projection shutter operates in conjunction with the photographic shutter and a state in which an interlock between the data projection shutter and the photographic shutter is released.
