The fuel cell system includes a fuel cell; a power conditioner that converts a cell power supplied from the fuel cell to a power corresponding to a load; a capacitor to which an excessive output power of the fuel cell is charged at the time of a low load operation and from which a power corresponding to the insufficient output power of the fuel cell is discharged at the time of a high load operation; a voltage detection means for detecting a voltage of the capacitor; and a control means that determines the low load operation or the high load operation, calculates an output power from the fuel cell to maintain the excessive power generated at the time of the low load operation within a space capacity of the capacitor, and controls the output power of the fuel cell not to exceed the calculated value.

A power source apparatus with a saving in wiring, large noise immunity and an additional function is achieved by connecting AC input bus lines (Vin+), (Vin&#x2212;), DC output bus lines (Vo+), (Vo&#x2212;) and a current balance signal bus line (CB) for connecting first, second, third power source unitsthrough connectors to form a module power source and connecting an additional function unitfor adding a predetermined additional function to the module power source using the bus lines to this module power source through a connector.

Power source apparatus

A power supply module includes a plurality of power supply modules. One of the power supply units is designated as a master power supply unit. Other power supply units are handled as expansion power supply units. The power supply modules can be connected in parallel on a DIN rail so that the master power supply unit may supply an external AC voltage to the expansion power supply units. When a desired power supply capacity exceeds a power supply capacity of the master power supply unit, an expansion power supply unit is connected in parallel with the master power supply unit in order to increase the power supply capacity.
