Provided are a terminal performing a wake-up with consumption of low power and a wake-up method performed by the terminal. The terminal includes: a passive filter outputting a correlation signal between a received signal and a reference signal; and a wake-up controller controlling whether to wake up a communication module, using the correlation signal output from the passive filter. Thus, a wake-up signal can be processed using the passive element that does not consume power during its operation. Also, a wake-up of a communication module can be controlled using the result of processing the wake-up signal. As a result, power consumption can be greatly reduced during the wake-up.

Terminal for performing wake-up with consumption of low power and wake-up method thereof

Disclosed is a radio communication terminal having an antenna device, which is capable of feeding power to an internal antenna using a simple configuration while achieving a reduction in SAR, by using a dipole antenna as the internal antenna. In the antenna device, a power feeding circuit and a primary radiation element are mounted to a printed circuit board (PCB). Transmission power from a transmitting/receiving circuit is fed to the primary radiation element via a coaxial cable by the power feeding circuit. The dipole antenna is attached to an inner surface, outer surface, or recessed portion of the case of the terminal in such a fashion that it faces the primary radiation element while being spaced apart from the primary radiation element. A speaker is attached to a surface of the PCB opposite to the PCB surface to which the primary radiation element is mounted. Although the primary radiation element and the dipole antenna are mechanically spaced apart from each other, they are capacitance-coupled or magnetically coupled together, thus eliminating the need for a power feeding line. The PCB serves to shield electromagnetic waves radiated from the antenna device toward the head of the user.

Disclosed is a portable communication terminal having an antenna structure capable of achieving a reduction in specific absorption rate (SAR) without preventing earth current from flowing through a PCB of the terminal. A sleeve antenna is arranged opposite to a speaker mounted to a printed circuit board (PCB) in the body of the terminal. The sleeve antenna includes an antenna element formed on an antenna PCB, and a dielectric sleeve. The sleeve antenna is connected to a transmitting/receiving circuit via a coaxial cable. The dielectric sleeve is mounted to a tip of the coaxial cable. The coaxial cable has an outer conductor connected to the inner peripheral conductor of the dielectric sleeve, and a central conductor connected to the feeding point of the antenna element. In accordance with this configuration, there is no antenna current flowing through the PCB. The PCB also serves as an electromagnetic shield plate. Accordingly, a reduction in SAR is achieved.

Portable communication terminal with reduced specific absorption rate

Disclosed is a portable communication terminal usable at multiple frequencies while being capable of achieving a reduction in specific absorption rate (SAR). The terminal includes two dipole antennas mounted on an antenna printed circuit board (PCB) mounted to a PCB of the terminal and respectively adapted to operate at usable frequencies f and f A coaxial cable is connected at its end to the dipole antennas, and a cylindrical bazooka type balun (bazooka) for multiple frequencies is fitted around the end of the coaxial cable. The bazooka includes a first dielectric cylinder, a second dielectric cylinder, and a conductor cylinder. The dielectric cylinders are coaxially fitted in the dielectric cylinder. The dielectric cylinders are used for the frequencies f and f while having electrical lengths corresponding to the frequencies f and f respectively.
