In an electrically actuated seat belt retractor including a belt take-up shaft on which a seat belt is retractable, and an electric motor which rotates the belt take-up shaft in at least one of the belt retracting direction and the belt feeding direction when energized, there is disposed an extra belt retracting device which can effect the belt retracting work of the belt take-up shaft when the electric motor fails to run.

Seat belt retractor

A vehicular seat arrangement for use in an automotive vehicle, comprising at least two seat assemblies positioned on the floor panel in parallel with each other laterally of the vehicle body, each seat assembly having a seat cushion portion and a seat back portion upstanding from the seat cushion portion and rockable with respect to the seat cushion portion about a pivot axis in a lateral direction of the seat assembly, a seat reinforcing device including an elongated reinforcement member extending in a lateral direction of the vehicle body between the side wall portions of the vehicle body and passed in part through the seat back portion of one of the seat assemblies and in part through the seat back portion of the other of the seat assemblies, and tilt regulating means permitting the seat back portion of one of the seat assemblies to tilt with respect to the seat cushion portion of the seat assembly about the pivot axis independently of the seat back portion of the other of the seat assemblies.

Vehicular seat arrangement

An instrument panel supporting structure having a switch support member provided with manually operated electric switches and positioned inside the rim portion of a steering wheel of a steerable vehicle, wherein the switch support member having recesses therein is rotatably mounted on the steering shaft and a slider support member having a plurality of sliders slidably supported thereon is secured to the steering column tube and wherein the sliders are urged to protrude into the recesses, respectively, in the switch support member so as to provide engagement between the switches and slider support members and to prevent the switch support member from rotation with respect to the slider support member. When the steering wheel is turned and a radial spoke portion of the steering wheel is brought into engagement with any one of the sliders, the particular slider is forced by the spoke portion to retract away from the recess in the switch support member and permits the spoke portion to move past the slider.

To vary the angle at which the headlight beams are directed only road surface from within the passenger compartment of a moving vehicle, spring forces urging hinged headlight mounting frames foreward are matched by the force of a spring assisting a winder to urge, via a first cable, lever, second and third cables, the frames in the opposite direction such that the force required to move the frames in either direction via a knob in the passenger compartment is substantially that required to move the frames if they were hanging or otherwise under the influence of only their own weight.

A flexible belt is fixed at its one end to one side of the vehicle seat and has at its other end a tongue member. An elongate rigid member is pivotally and rotatably fixed at its lower end to the other side of the vehicle seat and has at its upper end a buckle which releasably engages the tongue member.

The device for providing electric connection between a rotatable member and a stationary member has a doughnut-like housing of an insulating material and an annular and insulating base plate disposed in the housing coaxially and movably both in the circumferential and axial directions. Two annular contact plates are placed on a front face of the base plate, and two contact pins are held in the housing and urged always to stand on the contact plates, respectively, by means of compression springs. Both the housing and the base plate are locally shaped such that one of them can be fixed to the rotational member while the other can be engaged with the stationary member so as to be restrained from rotating together with the former.
