An activated carbon manufacturing system can efficiently heat a wood material or carbide to promote a drying process, a carbonization process and an activation process in manufacturing activated carbon, and can reduce the environmental load involved in the manufacture of activated carbon. Specifically, a drying process of a wood material is achieved by heating the wood material with saturated steam at an appropriate temperature, and an initial carbonization process of the wood material is achieved by heating the wood material with superheated steam. Therefore, the wood material can be heated with high heat transfer efficiency, so that the heat loss can be reduced, and neither a drying device nor a first carbonizing device produces a gas containing a harmful constituent in the heating processes, so that the adverse effect on the environment can be reduced.

Activated carbon manufacturing system

The apparatus for recovering Lithium comprises: a supply unit () in which lithium-containing water is passed through a filter membrane to yield lithium solution; an adsorption unit () in which said solution adsorb the lithium in a column; an elution unit () by which hydrochloric acid elute the lithium in the column, yielding a lithium elute containing hydrochloric acid and lithium chloride; a cleaning unit () by which the column is washing; a condensing unit () in which the lithium elute is circularly vaporized, and the vapor is condensed to yield concentrated lithium chloride solution; a collecting unit () in which sodium carbonate is added to lithium chloride solution to collect the lithium as concentrated lithium solution; and a hydrochloric acid recycling unit () in which the residue from lithium chloride solution is cooled to yield the hydrochloric acid as used in the elution unit ().

Apparatus and method for recovering lithium

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for recovering rare metal, which separates and collects rare metals by making use of chemical actions in an efficient combination of adsorption and separation, thereby reducing work load and improving work safety. The method for recycling rare metals includes a leaching step in which a rare metal of palladium, platinum, and rhodium is mixed with hydrochloric acid into a hydrochloric acid mixture, which is then stirred at one atmospheric pressure or lower at a temperature from 50 to 90 degrees Centigrade. The vapor resulting from the stirring is condensed, and the hydrochloric acid resulting from the condensing is fed back to the original hydrochloric acid mixture to produce a hydrochloric acid leaching solution. The hydrochloric acid leaching solution produced in the leaching step is used to collect the rare metals.

Method and apparatus for recovering rare metal

Provided is a pure liquid manufacturing apparatus capable of manufacturing pure liquid such as pure water efficiently. Together with a series of units, from a heating unit to a condensation unit, for obtaining pure liquid from vapor, a drain tank unit for storing liquid is disposed, after the liquid discharged from the vaporization unit and the separation unit and new liquid are mixed in advance in the drain tank unit, the mixed liquid is pressurized by a pump unit and supplied to the heating unit. Consequently, the drain tank unit serves as a buffer for pressure, thus making it possible to maintain easily the pressure in the respective units such as the vaporization unit, etc., and reduce load of a vacuum exhaust unit to ensure a reduced pressure state, and dispose the required minimum valves for maintaining the pressure, thereby achieving the simplification of the apparatus structure.

Pure liquid manufacturing apparatus

A vapor power cycle apparatus that mixes part of high-temperature liquid-phase working fluid separated from a liquid-phase portion in a gas/liquid separator with high-temperature gas-phase working fluid extracted from a expander and allows the fluid to exchange heat with low-temperature liquid-phase working fluid from a condenser so as to efficiently recover the heat of working fluid and improve thermal efficiency of the entire cycle. The part of high-temperature liquid-phase working fluid separated from the liquid-phase portion in the gas/liquid separator is extracted, the resultant fluid is mixed in a second absorber with high-temperature gas-phase working fluid extracted from an interstage point in the expander to allow liquid-phase working fluid to absorb part of gas-phase working fluid and the high-temperature working fluid is used to heat low-temperature liquid-phase working fluid in a first heater without passing an extracted portion of high-temperature liquid-phase working fluid through a condenser.

Vapor power cycle apparatus

An absorber having a shell, wet tubes and cooling fluid supply and collection portions. Partition walls divide the shell into at least three zones. The wet tubes are disposed parallelly in the shell, passing through the partition walls. The opposite open ends of the wet tube locate in the uppermost and lowermost zones of the shell, respectively. The cooling fluid supply portion communicates with the open end of the wet tube to supply a cooling fluid thereto. The cooling fluid collection portion communicates with the other open end of the wet tube and discharge it outside. A gap is formed between the wet tube and the partition walls facing the intermediate zone. The cooling fluid continuously flows in the wet tubes, while supplying the liquid working fluid to the uppermost zone so as to flow down from the gap. The liquid working fluid flows through the gap to the zone locating below the intermediate zone and is discharged outside. The gaseous working fluid is supplied to the intermediate zone so as to come into contact with the liquid working fluid flowing on the outer peripheral surfaces of the wet tubes.

Absorber

Tubular heat transferring members are disposed in a shell. A kind of fluid passes through the heat transferring members, while the other kind of fluid flows around the heat transferring members in the direction perpendicular to the flowing direction of the former fluid, to make a heat exchange between these fluids through the heat transferring members. No packing member is needed to ease restriction in pressure applied to the fluid, improving the heat exchange efficiency. There is no occurrence of leakage, improving reliability. The opposite end portions of the heat transferring members serve as an inlet to the inside of the heat transferring members and an outlet therefrom and there is no opening formed in the intermediate portion of the heat transferring members without wasting material in a blanking process for the heat transferring members, thus providing an economic effect.

Heat exchanger

A condenser comprises at least one heat transferring face formed of a plate-shaped material. Change of phase of a low temperature fluid from a liquid phase to a gaseous phase is made by causing a high temperature fluid and the low temperature fluid to flow on opposite surface sides of the heat transferring face, respectively, so that flowing directions of the high and low temperature fluids are perpendicular to each other, to make a heat exchange. There is provided at least one condensate discharging trough portion having a first groove portion formed on a surface of the high temperature fluid side of the heat transferring face so as to extend in an oblique direction to a flowing direction of the high temperature fluid by a prescribed angle. The condensate discharging trough portion is capable of receiving condensate of the high temperature fluid, which is generated on the heat transferring face to flow down in the flowing direction of the high temperature fluid. The heat transferring face is divided into zones by the condensate discharging trough portion. The zones have prescribed patterns of irregularity appearing on at least high temperature fluid side.

Condenser

Local heat transferring zones are provided on a heat transferring face. The zones have prescribed patterns of irregularity, which are different from each other. Resistance corresponding to the flowing velocity of the high temperature fluid is imparted to the high temperature fluid by the patterns of irregularity in the zones. It is possible to distribute uniformly the high temperature fluid to the zones to cause it to flow over the entirety of the heat transferring face so as to obtain a uniform flow rate of the high temperature fluid on the zones, improve the contact efficiency of the high temperature fluid with the heat transferring face and improve the heat transfer efficiency of the high temperature fluid to the low temperature fluid through the heat transferring face, unlike the conventional case that the high temperature fluid does not flow in a uniform state on the heat transferring face due to the biased position for the supply of the high temperature fluid.

Evaporator

The present invention relates to an energy converter for transferring thermal energy from a low heat source to a high heat source using a mixed medium for the purposes of increasing thermal energy transfer efficiency. The present invention improves performance of an evaporator and a condenser, reduces production cost of the device, improves performance over a wide range even with partial loads, and provides a highly efficient and polyfunctional energy converter having function as a refrigerator and a heat pump with one cycle, and function as a generator. The present invention relates to an energy converter including an evaporator for heat-exchanging a low heat source for a working fluid, a compressor connected to a fluid discharge side of the evaporator for compressing a discharge fluid, a condenser connected to a discharge side of the compressor for thermally exchanging the working fluid discharged from the compressor with a high heat source, a vapor-liquid separator connected to a discharge side of the condenser, a swelling device connected to a vapor discharge side of the vapor-liquid separator for swelling a discharged vapor, a reducing valve connected to a liquid discharge side of the vapor-liquid separator for reducing a liquid, a mixer for mixing a swollen vapor from the swelling device with a reduced liquid from the reducing valve, and a heat exchange cycle formed by connected piping for evaporating a discharge fluid of the mixer or the absorber with the evaporator.

Energy converter

A thermal power generator includes a high heat source pump, and cold working fluid pumps. An evaporator heat exchanges a high heat source fluid and a warmed working fluid. A liquid-vapor separator is connected to the evaporator. A first stage turbine is connected to the liquid-vapor separator. A second stage turbine is connected to the first stage turbine. A heater is connected to the first stage turbine, and receives remaining vapor working fluid, and the cold-working fluid to heat exchange the fluids. A tank stores and mixes the working fluids discharged from the heater, and supplies the stored working fluid to the first cold working fluid pump. A regenerator receives the liquid working fluid from the separator, and the cold working fluid, and forms a regenerated working fluid, and a warmed working fluid discharged to the evaporator. An absorber is connected to the second stage turbine and the regenerator. A reducing valve is located between the absorber and regenerator. A low heat source pump supplies a low heat source fluid to a main condensation tank, to perform a heat exchange to recondense the vapor working fluid. An auxiliary condensation tank receives an absorbed working fluid, the recondensed working fluid, and the low heat source fluid. A storage tank is connected to the auxiliary condensation tank. The cold-working fluid is fed from the storage tank to the heater, regenerator and evaporator, respectively.

Thermal power generator

A condenser is provided with a heat exchanger which is rotated in an airtight cylindrical vessel filled with a fluid to be condensed. The rotated heat exchanger has a structure almost similar to a rotor of a steam turbine, namely, has a structure formed of plural pairs of hollow blades arranged individually opposite to each other on both sidewalls of an elongated rectangular hollow axle rotated in the fluid to be condensed, all of those hollows being communicated with each other, so as to circulate a coolant therethrough. As a result, the fluid to be condensed always uniformly contacts with the coolant through surfaces of the blades with an extremely high performance of condensation.

Rotary blade type fluid condenser

An oceano-thermosteric power plant is provided with plural evaporators and plural condensers, alternate parts of which are not operated at night and in winter on light load and hence a high efficiency heat exchange can be maintained. During the period that selected condensers and evaporators are not in service, excess cold water from the out-of-service condensers is circulated through the out-of-service evaporators in the opposite direction and hence the filth deposited inside the out-of-service evaporators can be washed away.

Oceano-thermosteric power plant

Improvements in the condensing heat transfer surface of a condenser which handles organic working fluids whose surface tension is not more than 35 dyne/cm as gas mediums to be condensed. The improvements comprise the formation of a plurality of transversely spaced vertically extending grooves on the condensing heat transfer surface on which the gas medium condenses. The pitch of the grooves is about 1-2 mm and the depth is about 0.3-0.6 mm.

A plate type heat exchanger arranged so that heat exchange is effected between fluids through heat transfer plates. It comprises heat transfer plates serving as heat transfer elements, and jet plates each having a number of small holes. One fluid is jetted through the small holes in the jet plates towards the heat transfer plates opposed to the jet plates while the other fluid flows along the respective opposite heat transfer surfaces of the heat-transfer plates or is jetted toward the respective opposite heat transfer surfaces as in the case of the first fluid.
