A printing apparatus includes a printing unit, and first, second, and third conveyance paths. The printing unit performs printing at a printing position on a print medium conveyed in a conveyance direction. The first conveyance path causes the print medium to pass through the printing position of the printing unit. The second conveyance path reverses obverse and reverse surfaces of the print medium, and the third conveyance path reverses obverse and reverse surfaces of the print medium. The second conveyance path branches from the first conveyance path at a first branching point on a downstream side of the printing position in the conveyance direction and merges into the first conveyance path on an upstream side of the printing position. The third conveyance path branches from a second branching point on the second conveyance path and merges into the first conveyance path on the upstream side of the printing position.

Printing apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a supply unit, a supply path, first and second conveyance paths, a printing unit, and an inversion roller. The first conveyance path conveys, to a first direction, a print medium. The printing unit prints an image on the two surface of the print medium. The inversion roller inverts a conveyance direction of the print medium and conveys the print medium in a second direction. The second conveyance path conveys the print medium conveyed in the second direction to the first conveyance path while inverting the print medium. When performing printing on both sides of print media, the print media are convey such that a first print medium supplied from the second conveyance path and a second print medium supplied from the supply path overlap in the first conveyance path.

Printing apparatus, control method thereof, and storage medium to reduce a size of a printing apparatus without a deterioration in productivity of double-sided printing

A recording apparatus to record an image on a sheet includes a roller pair and a switching unit. The roller pair sandwiches the sheet between the roller pair to convey the sheet. The switching unit switches between a first state in which the roller pair sandwiches the sheet and a second state in which rollers of the roller pair are separated from each other. The switching unit includes a first movable member that is moved in a first direction so that the first state is switched to the second state, and includes a second movable member that is moved in a second direction different from the first direction so that the first state is switched to the second state.

Recording apparatus

An object of the present invention is to provide a printing apparatus including a scanner unit openable and closable with respect to a printer body unit for simultaneously achieving smooth opening/closing movement and the downsizing of the apparatus. The printing apparatus includes a first gear member provided in the printer body unit and a second gear member which is attached to the scanner unit so as to be swingable with respect to the scanner unit and which is in mesh with the first gear member. When the scanner unit opens or closes with respect to the printer body unit, the second gear member swings with respect to the scanner unit while retaining a meshing state with the first gear member.

There is provided an image forming apparatus including a scanner unit configured to be openable on an apparatus front side with respect to a printer unit due to a first hinge portion on an apparatus rear side, a cover to cover a feed port configured to be openable due to a second hinge portion on the apparatus front side of the feed port, wherein a rotation axis of the first hinge portion is positioned on the apparatus rear side of a rotation axis of the second hinge portion in an apparatus depth direction. Interlocking with an operation to open the scanner unit, the cover moves while a portion thereof is in contact with a surface of the paper feed tray or the sheet placed thereon to open the cover in an interlocking manner.

Image forming apparatus

A carriage device includes a first guide member and a second guide member for supporting a carriage with a head mounted thereon at two separate positions and guiding reciprocation of the carriage, a first adjustment unit configured to adjust a height of the carriage relative to the first guide member through movement of the carriage, and a second adjustment unit configured to adjust a height of the carriage relative to the second guide member through the movement of the carriage. The carriage device can sequentially perform a first operation of changing the height of the carriage by the first adjustment unit and a second operation of changing the height of the carriage by the second adjustment unit.

Carriage device

An interval switching member that relatively displaces a carriage with respect to a printing medium in a direction orthogonal to a printing surface of the printing medium is provided between the carriage and a first guide member, and between the carriage and a second guide member. Subsequently, an inclination control member that changes a distance between the carriage and the first guide member is provided between the carriage and the first guide member. By changing the distance between the carriage and the first guide member with the inclination control member, the carriage rotates about a second guide rail serving as a central axis, such that an angle of the printing head against the printing medium is changed.

An image reading and recording apparatus includes an image recording unit and an image reading unit supported to be pivotally movable above the image recording unit and configured to be opened and closed by being pivotally moved relative to the image recording unit. The apparatus includes a stay including an opening portion formed thereon, a rotor inserted in the opening portion of the stay, a first cam surface provided on an inner peripheral portion of the opening portion, and a second cam surface provided on an outer peripheral portion of the rotor. The rotor rotates due to abutment of the first cam surface and the second cam surface with each other. The image reading unit is held in a first opened state with a first open angle, due to meshed engagement of the first cam surface and the second cam surface with each other.

A printing apparatus includes a conveyance roller conveying a print medium, a printhead printing an image on the print medium, a carriage supporting the printhead and movable in a direction parallel to an axial direction of the conveyance roller, and a detecting unit detecting a rotation amount of the conveyance roller. The detecting unit is a rotary encoder including a code wheel provided coaxially with the conveyance roller. The carriage can move to a position at which the carriage overlaps the code wheel in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the conveyance roller.

A sheet feeding apparatus includes: a tray storing a sheet and detachably mounted on an apparatus body; a rotatable arm; a roller, provided on the arm, configured to pick up the sheet on the tray; a sensor, provided on the arm, configured to detect a physical property; and a determination unit configured to determine, based on detection by the sensor, at least any of a mounting state of the tray on the apparatus body and at least one of states of the sheet on the tray selected from the group consisting of the presence or absence of the sheet, a remaining amount of the sheet, a type of the sheet, front and back sides of the sheet, and a size of the sheet stored on the tray.

Sheet feeding apparatus

A downsized recording apparatus capable of housing inside a holding member that holds a disc recording medium so as to convey the disc recording medium. The recording apparatus includes a conveyance unit that conveys a sheet; a recording unit that performs recording on the sheet conveyed by the conveyance unit; a duplex conveyance path that guides the sheet having recording performed on a first side thereof by the recording unit and reverses the sheet before guiding the sheet to the conveyance unit so that recording is performed on a second side of the sheet having recording performed on the first side thereof, the second side being opposite the first side; a holding-member-housing portion provided at a position enclosed by the duplex conveyance path, the portion housing a holding member that holds a disc recording medium; and a moving unit that moves the holding member to the conveyance unit so that the holding member is conveyed by the conveyance unit.

Inkjet recording apparatus

A printer has a base, first and second side members placed on opposite side portions of a base with respect to a first direction, at least one roller for transporting a sheet in a second direction intersecting the first direction, a print unit and a platen, the roller, the print unit and the platen being held with the first side member and the second side member. The first side member and the second side member are formed by a molded first resin material and the base is formed by a molded second resin material, and a bending elastic modulus of the first resin material is larger than that of the second resin material.

The second sheet stacking and supplying part includes a second feeding roller that separates, supplies and conveys a sheet, and a second feeding roller arm that holds the second feeding roller so as to be capable of abutting on the sheet, and rotates about an axis. The second feeding roller arm is disposed outside the first sheet stacking and supplying part in a direction that intersects a supplying and conveying direction of the sheet.
